Beyond the issues with people just not getting invitations sent (which I believe is a lot better now than it has been), there is a 20 friend limit, and another bug where if you have enough that the list scrolls (like more than 13 for me), if you scroll the list, the "Join on Friend" arrow on the right hand side doesn't work any more.
