The biscuits from Krispy Krunchy Chicken are close to perfection. I could eat a dozen of them in 1 sitting, in fact I may go there today and give that a shot

I always wondered who was ordering the mild stuff there

They need a level beyond spicy, but I understand why they don't have one.

that's the problem with Popeyes and Churches--why do they even bother with non-spicy options? Every time I would go there, it's the same thing "Sorry, we out of spicy, you want the mild, we got plenty of that." Um...no. Why don't you guys just ditch the mild options that no one clearly wants and do only spicy, that way you actually have enough chicken to sell when people show up and want fried chicken.

Bojangles doesn't have this problem, and they actually offer real biscuits--unlike those abominations at Popeyes and Churches.

God Burger King blows. Ordered a double bacon cheeseburger and the burger was so small and dry I just threw it away after two bites.

When your name is Burger King and you can't even make a decent burger then it's time to close up shop.

yeah, what happened to BK after all these years? They used to be great, but I can't recall the last time I had a burger from there that wasn't a thin, dried-out sliver of sandpaper. Granted, it's probably been about 5 years since I last had one.

I blame private equity and Wall St. If they just bring back the old Whopper, they wouldn't have to rely on gimmicks and financial engineering. Burger King is total shit now.

Just tried the new crunchy cheesy core burrito at TB. Pretty good, but pricey (like normal for their new stuff)

Meh, I actually like the Whopper but have to get a double since it's so little meat in all those toppings.

Yeah those 5 guys fries are flaccid and complete shit. At least in n out fries are cheap, flaccid, and complete shit.
Every time, I ask for some variant of "well done" or "extra crispy" on the fries at 5 Guys, and occasionally they manage to accidentally slip a small handful of fully-cooked non-flaccid fries in there.

Has anyone seen/tried the pork belly sandwich at Arby's? Just noticed it today, may give it a go next week.

Ended up in Dallas TX last weekend and couldn't find a fresh salad to save my life.

Tried In and Out for the first time. Above average fast food burgers for sure but didn't nearly live up to whatever I had imagined it was hyped up to be.

Went to Raising Cains too. Surprisingly good chicken strips + sauce, slaw and toast was acceptable, gross fries tasted like dirty oil. Might have been the most racially/culturally/whatever restaurant experience of my life. Everyone loves fried chicken.

Fast food has gotten expensive over the last couple years. The mcdouble is a waste of time when it was once a staple in cheap tolerable food. The only 2 "good" deals left are KFC's $5 fill up and BK's 2 original chicken sandwiches for $5.

Arby's smokehouse Pork Belly sandwich:

http://arbys.com/our-menu/limited-time-offers/smokehouse-pork-belly-sandwich

8/10. This was actually pretty good. My only real complaint is that it's way too salty, and this has been the case with just about every new sandwich that Arby's debuts. Also, I think mine was missing the crispy onion rings, not a dealbreaker though as the pork was tasty. 860cal, 29g protein, 49g carbs, 61g fat. High fat due to the pork & tons of calories if you need to fill up quickly.

Arby's smoke mount sandwich:

http://arbys.com/our-menu/limited-time-offers/smoke-mountain-sandwich

Meh. This is just the pork belly with "brisket" (i.e. roast beef) & turkey. It's just a pile of meat. The pork belly sandwich is far better because it works as something that someone designed, not just slapped together. Good if you need to get a lot of protein in tho. 800cal, 49g protein, 50g carbs, 46g fats.

Arby's apple crisp:

http://arbys.com/our-menu/limited-time-offers/apple-crisp

Hmm. Could have been good. Needs to be 50% cake, 50% apple. It has a sliver of apples on the bottom, then a bunch of soft cake, like a coffee cake, which is fine, except that it gets kind of steamed, so it almost turns into bread pudding, but it doesn't, so it's just a bit...mushy. So a bit mushy with not nearly enough apples. 570 calories, 6g protein, 76g carbs, 27g fats. Very high carb count & calorie count for something so small.

I can't eat the spicy chicken at those places. My spicy taste buds are on overload since the chemo and radiation and even the slightest heat is horrible. I always opt for the mild option.

Mother of God...

I sometimes don't have that many carbs in a day and here it is in a single sammich? UNREAL.

I understand you had these things to help out ATOT, but I don't get how someone could order and eat any of these items and then not feel like total crap an hour later.

It's all in the name of science

That sandwich is well under my current macros. Didn't feel like crap after eating it. If your stomach is operating properly, eating crap now & then shouldn't hurt you. Living off it, especially in excess, can definitely cause some damage, but I used to have a really sensitive stomach due to digestion issues (fixed with modern medicine yay) & now there are very few foods that bother me.

I can't eat a hamburger at a fast food restaurant with fries or anything and not feel bad. Maybe its all mental for me, I dont know, but all that fat and grease, sodium, etc, just makes my stomach physically hurt. It never used to do that, but has in the past year. I guess its not necessarily a bad thing as it makes me not want to eat it, but I am ok with pizza and things like that in moderation.

Is that based on the actual nutritional data, or just your feelings on what the grease/sodium/etc content is?

Is what based on actual nutritional data. The fact that fast food hamburgers have a lot of grease, calories, fat, sodium, etc? Yeah, its on their nutritional data sheets posted in the stores on and the web. The last time I had a fast food burger and fries, I got chills afterwards and generally felt horrible.

But.. that doesn't mean that they don't taste good or at least people crave them.

I wasn't sure if you meant your stomach hurt because you were just sure of how much whatever was in the burger & fries, or if you have actually looked at the data.
But yeah, based on your description, it's either mental, or you may have medical issues that should be looked into.

BK "Bacon King" burger:

https://www.bk.com/menu-item/bacon-king-sandwich

Looked appealing, but it was just OK. It's like the textbook definition of what's bad for you, lol: mayo, bacon, cheese, burger patties. Whopper is better because the veggies give it more flavor. Like the concept, but it's just meat & fat, which isn't bad, it's just not as much flavor range as I like (lettuce, tomato, etc.). Macros are pretty good, and surprisingly, the fat content isn't as high as I thought it would be (1040 calories, 57g protein, 48g carbs, 69g fat), but holy crap, 1900mg of sodium, that's like my salt intake limit for the day lol.
