So I just tried a Beyond Burger (meatless burger patty) at BurgerFi: (growing chain, similar to Five Guys but way better)

Thoughts:
1. Less than half the thickness of the advertisement. It was the size of a Smashburger patty, not a regular patty. Which was fine because I typically prefer thinner patties (like a Whopper). Maybe the store-bought ones are thicker:
So that's the ad above; here is mine below. It was actually about 1/3 the size of the advertised patty: (the angle in mine makes it look thicker than it was)
2. The patty itself was...different. I've eaten a lot of veggie burgers in my time (everything from store-bought vegan ones to BK's veggie burger to homemade veggie burgers). The outside texture was very much like a burger, but the inside was odd...kind of like finely-chopped caramelized (well, not even caramelized, just sauteed until translucent with the slightest bit of texture to them still) onions soaked in beet juice. Eating the patty on its own was not a burger experience. However, when paired with the bun & toppings, it actually worked really well as a burger. I would compare it to a fast-food patty, but not as greasy. Like a Big Mac patty. It's weird because it didn't work as a standalone patty, but it worked great as part of a whole burger. No real complaints...maybe a very slightly odd flavor (very very slight) and almost too salty, but when you're eating it, you're not thinking "gee, this is a veggie burger", it's just kind of like eating a fast-food burger.
3. BurgerFi actually has a better veggie burger already, a crispy one that uses quinoa. I've made a variety of burgers with beans & other random stuff, just to try something new. There are a lot of really decent recipes out there for non-meat burgers, if you're into that sort of thing.
4. No ill effects!
5. Would I get it again? Nah. Not because it was bad, but because it was just okay. I have nothing against meatless burgers because my bottom line is whether it's good or not. This was decent, but I rarely get burgers out because I make way better burgers at home (smashburgers, the Chump, sous vide burgers, charcoal-grilled bison burgers, etc.), so it better be next-level if I'm going to pay for it.
