Tried Freddy's Steakburgers last night. We got burger combos and they were awesome. The cheese was a little weird but the burgers are great.
Yep. We have one right down the road from us. Great burgers. Their fry sauce is soooooo good.

Girl Scout S'more cookies:
I bought a box of Tagalongs. Gross is the shortest accurate adjective that suits. The closest culinary experience I can compare them to was trying a Sara Lee cheesecake many years ago. I put the Tagalong/cheesecake into my mouth and thought, "I just bit into a wad of Crisco." The Tagalongs are flavorless grease. They don't taste like chocolate and they don't taste like peanut butter, just greasy blobs of un-goodness.

Just got back from a Mexican place near my house.

For $7.99 (Taco carne asada) you get:

3 tacos stuffed with meat, lettuce, cilantro etc. Hard or soft shell
a big plate full of beans, rice, and cheese
a little baggy of chips with a container of delicious homemade salsa

It's ready in 10 minutes, about the time it takes me to drive there.

People are certainly free to order fast food all they want. I just don't see why a person would take a crap burger and greasy fries over something like that.

because not everyone has something like this 10 minutes away, or because you want mexican at 4:30am and Taco Bell is the only joint with a drive thru open.

I would drive 15-20 minutes for it without a second thought. How much longer can a non-big city drive be? And bigger cities have eateries every few blocks.

My town has about 170,000.

For LA that's expensive for what you got.

Now that I'm in the SF Bay Area, that's about normal price just for two tacos, nothing else.

Yeah, I've made a few of the copycat recipes & they are way, way better than the ones they sell. But I was also a Boy Scout once & had to sell stuff door to door, so I always buy a few boxes to support the kids (at least that's what I tell myself, lol).

Big Grand Mac: (I guess it's a bigger Big Mac?) at McDonald's

It's okay. Biggest complaint was that the bun literally started falling apart on me. There's not enough body in the bun to hold it together...it doesn't just smoosh up flat in your hands like a lot of buns do; it literally starts falling apart on you. It was extremely messy to eat, and there were times when I was holding the meat or the onions or whatever toppings there were with my fingers as I ate it.

Still too much bun for my tastes (patty size should be twice as thick for the amount of bun they put on). But it was the only thing open at midnight, so...yeah.

Popeye's chicken tenders are better than Bojangles chicken tenders.

A Popeye's opened on the same street as all the other go to places to eat near campus (literally a block from Bojangles) and so I decided to give them a try.

Wow, the outside was crispy, something that Bojangles tenders don't have. I also got the spicy tenders so it had a little bit of heat but not too much. Everything was hot and I thoroughly enjoyed my meal.

TLDR: Tenders = Popeyes // Fried Chicken = Bojangles

You offend the decent people of Raleigh.

First: you are going to fried chicken joints and spending money on tenders. Are you still 8?
Second: Popeyes over Bojangles. Someone needs to ride you out of NC on the pole.

You people and your Church's Chicken

(As in, we don't have those)

I wouldn't be all that jealous. Their chicken is better than Popeyes, but their biscuits manage to be worse, somehow. One might think that would be impossible, but it isn't. Problem I have with Churches is that they are always out of spicy chicken, ask if I'm OK with regular. Who the hell is OK with regular? Hey, geniuses: why not just make all your chicken spicy? That's all anyone wants to order!

OK, then I will laugh at and mock you.

We have these guys, perilously close to my house:
http://gusfriedchicken.com/

It is probably the best I have had from a chain restaurant, but luckily they are rather expensive, so limits my consumption. The other issue with Gus's is that they don't have mashed potatoes.

...no mashed potatoes. What kind of fascists would dare to sell fried chicken and claim that mashed potatoes are inferior to their garbage potato salad?

That mocking is a two-way street, my friend. If one place had great fried chicken and no side dishes at all, I'd pick it over a place with lesser fried chicken and a smorgasbord of sides.

I tried Ginger Ale & Lemonade today. While it isn't mind-blowing, it is pretty good...very mellow & refreshing with ice. It takes the edge off the Ginger Ale, actually - tones it down.

We call it Spicy Lemonade, lol.

So you've been disgusted by Pineapple on pizza, how about Banana on Pizza?

You know, that sounds disgusting, but I'll try anything once! I actually really like pineapple on pizza, with either crispy Canadian bacon (Hawaiian-style) or my own personal creation, the California Special (pineapple, grilled chicken, and green peppers, with dried red pepper flakes optional). There's a local joint that does a provolone-peanut butter-bacon pizza that sounds crazy but is actually DELICIOUS.

I think part of it stems from whether or not you like sweet meat. My wife hates Hawaiian pizza, but she also doesn't like teriyaki chicken or anything like that. I'm sure that's not the case for everyone, but I'm also a sweet tooth, so pineapple & ham on pizza works for me! Although this review for banana pizza doesn't look so good:

https://www.buzzfeed.com/krishrach/people-were-getting-angry-about-banana-on-pizza-so-we-decide

Curry-banana pizza...I can't imagine that combination in my head...I'd have to try it to make a judgement...

Not here in Missouri. People will write reviews online about how spicy the *regular* chicken at places is. Not only do they not like spice here, they actively dislike it and complain until restaurants stop using it. I went to a Louisiana themed restaurant and all I heard was complaining about how spicy everything was.
