Had a Bacon Ultimate Cheeseburger from JiTB last week. For some reason the ones around here all have posters in the window for the Ultimate Cheeseburger. This used to be one of my favorite fast food burgers. For a looooong time now, when I get one it's decent at best. But I've had a lot of super dry flavorless ones. This was exactly like I remember it from when I was in high school in the 90s. It was super juicy and had a ton of flavor.

I'd normally chalk something like this up to I just got lucky. But the posters everywhere for it make me think they might have done something to make it like it used to be. I gotta try another in a day or 2 to see if it was just a random good one. It was damn delicious though. It use to be consistent back in the 90's and early 2000's.

I have eaten there twice. Both times the quality and portions were massively disappointing. Enough so that I won't even give them a chance at a third strike.

It seems to depend a lot on the location and the staff who makes it that day. The one by us usually gives good portion sizes but it's highly variable for a chain

People poop on Taco Bell for their lack of creativity in new items, while I won't disagree they phone it in for a lot of the stuff. Jack wins the internet with their Mega Munchie Meal

39 tiny tacos
2 large curly fries
3 ranch sauces
3 creamy avocado lime sauces.

That's just random shit thrown together, and 3 ranches for 30 nuggets is nowhere near enough. Also, how did they decide on 39 tiny tacos? 40 was just too damn much I suppose. I know this is for a car full of stoners at 2AM who have the munchies but only have $20. No sober person ever has said "I want some chicken nuggets and tacos"

The Tiny Tacos are really good, just not with nuggets. But I'm not going to lie, since the stoner thing's legal in Cali I'm tempted to do that and see if I could eat an entire one of these lol. Who knows maybe it'll make for a good ass combination when you're in that state.

Arby's Spicy Roast Beef:

Roast beef sandwich with fiery seasoning, spicy mayo, diced jalapenos and lettuce.

The picture shows a ton of seasoning on the meat, I didn't get much, and the website doesn't let you add extra. It's dark red, so maybe it's cayenne powder, I dunno. The spicy mayo's not what I'd consider spicy, the Jalapenoes are diced small and probably don't have any of the membrane or seeds as there was little heat to them but the Jalapeno flavor was nice. The lettuce was actually a nice addition.

2 for $7, they're pretty small and as far as being spicy maybe 3/10. Not sure why they didn't keep it around, but the Diablo sauce would have been solid here. I don't think this would be hot hot even for even someone who can't handle spicy. Overall it's alright, nothing I'm gonna run to get again though. But it's Arby's and LTO so I'm sure they'll be gone in a few weeks anywho.

So BK brought back the Stacker, one of the few things I liked there. It use to be the same size as the King burgers I'm pretty sure, but now it's damn baby sized. The quad's smaller than the double King. I guess that's not a terrible thing as eating a half lb burger with like 6 slices of bacon and 3 slices of cheese is terrible for your insides. Not that a smaller but still big buger is much better. But when you're unhealthy I suppose every bit helps.

I like the Stacker sauce better than the Mayo+Ketchup they put on the Bacon King. And they have the absolute shittiest Ranch ever, it always tastes spoiled to me. For some reason I still get it sometimes hoping they changed to a different formula.

I haven't tried their tiny tacos, but Jack in the Box's regular tacos are criminally bad. Like... horrifying. Apparently the thing to do is dip them in ranch dressing which brings the crime up to Interpol / Hauge levels.

When it's late night and you've had 3-4 beers there's little in this world better than a Bacon Ultimate Cheeseburger and 2 JiTB Tacos. They're so good you can only buy them in 2s, I don't know anyone who can eat just 1. I usually get 2 orders and demolish them. The Tiny Tacos are 15 mini versions of the regular ones.

I've never put Ranch on them, but their hot sauce, while not spicy is a nice addition.

Their meat quality seems a little shaky and the one that's near my house has really bad staffing issues - it might take 5 minutes to get your order, it might literally take 30. Honestly I eat there because when I want fast food, they are by far the most conveniently located. Everything else is in a Walmart plaza with a terrible road layout.

I went to Jack in the Box once and realized it was the lowest on the totem pole and never went back.

So KFC now has chicken fried steak dinners on Tuesdays, at "participating" locations. Which means it won't be here. I'm sure it won't be great, but I wouldn't mind trying it. Even so-so chicken fried steak would still pretty tasty after I've had a few IPA's. CFS smothered in country gravy's one of my favorite foods hands down.

You get the steak + mashed potatoes and gravy, coleslaw and a biscuit for $5. Looking at the picture, they use proper white gravy. And if it's the same that use to come on the white gravy version of their famous bowl that was decent enough. Definitely will be better than brown gravy on CFS! Tuesday seems like an odd night to offer it, maybe that's a southern thing? We have Taco Tuesday in So Cal, I know in the south they love CFS so is that like their Tuesday equivalent to Taco Tuesday?

Tuesday special is a thing. They used to offer a piece of thigh and a drumstick for two bucks on Tuesdays and was called Toonie Tuesday up here. Canadian two dollar coins are called toonies.

Saw a Bob White on my way home from a bar near Union Square, so I grabbed a chicken sandwich and some cole slaw.

That's a mighty fine chicken sammy, definitely a noticeable notch above a Popeye's or Chick fil-A.

I thought Bob White was a decent sized chain. Apparently they just have four locations so far in the New York City area.

Definitely the best chicken sandwich I've had from any fast casual place including shake shack, Popeyes, and Chick-fil-A. And the coleslaw was not bad either.
