My friend is moving to Cali next month (job with Amazon). I will visit there soon and explorer the awesomeness.

I spent more than a dozen years in California and of all the places I have lived I miss it the most.

the 90s working on the sunset strip was wild and more fun than most people could handle.

Can I join in on the fun? Someone want to lend me $500k as seed money to be paid back at 10% Millennium percentage rate for a 1000 year term?

You guys are only awesome because the rest of us paying your bills. Damn moochers.

:hmm: Your profile says Washington DC...

DC got $2.41 in federal spending for every $1 paid in taxes.

California, on the other hand, received $0.87.

Sounds like California was paying YOUR bills...or at least helping to pay. :whiste:

You think California is great because it stays warm all year? That eliminates the only season I approve of. It still gets hot as balls in the summer in most of California. I can't figure you people out.

We'll get a couple weeks of high 80's, maybe hitting 90, and a couple weeks of moderately high humidity in the 80's. The rest of the summer will be high 70's to low 80's with low humidity. A few summers ago, 70 was the high for about two months. That was a weird summer.

We, (I'm So Cal born & raised) have our heads so far up our asses in this state that we can't see the light of day even out the mouth of this black hole we call Sacramento!!

Jerry Brown is the engineer on the crazy train (don't get me started on *HIS* crazy train) and his head *IS* an ass! (no discernible difference)

If we don't get some serious hard-line 180's going on some of our state policies (fiscal first & foremost) we will soon be forging the path for a bankrupt STATE!! (Wouldn't the other 49 love that one?)

Allow voters to vote themselves benefits and California is proof pure that THEY WILL!!!

Perhaps you should get your head out of your ass. We're actually doing pretty damn good with our budget right now thanks to the stock market and Brown is holding back from undoing the cuts now that we have a small surplus. He's certainly doing a lot better than Arnold and basically no Republican can win against Brown in November mainly since the budget is pretty good and also that the GOP barely has a functioning party in CA. California is going to ride the Moonbeam Express for another five years. Choo chooooo

I spent 27 years of my life in California, 7 months ago I moved to Texas and I have not regretted my decision. California is a cool place but this is a HUGE country and one should not limit oneself to the relatively small (cool) part of one of the 50 states in the union.

Well, I've been pretty much everywhere, and I have not regretted my decision of not moving to another state.

I went to California for a 6 week construction job. Ended up staying 25 years. I left after I was forcibly retired. I can't possibly imagine any scenario that would get me to move to Texas...or for that matter, to any place east of the Rockies.

oddly enough I had never been to Texas until I moved here. I just got an opportunity here I would have to be dumb not to take. I knew it was gonna be different than what I had become accustomed to and I welcomed those differences.

If you would have told me a year ago that I would be sitting where I am right now I would not have believed it. Life sometimes works out in weird ways.

I love California but it isn't for everyone. My aunt and uncle had a nice house in Santa Barbara about 25 years ago and moved to northern Idaho because CA was getting too crowded. Of course, now they are complaining that their town in Idaho is getting too crowded so apparently they don't even like medium population density. Anyway, they would never even think about moving back now.

You need to re-read the article, bud. And pull your head out of YOUR ass. A budget surplus.....Not a surplus, bulwinkle, a BUDGET surplus.....and a booming stock market does not a great economic outlook, make.

The man is delusional with his choo choo train. $68 billion is just a start. The $200 billion projected that it will cost will end up going nowhere. The train will probably die a slow death over the next few years....(of course it'll go slow half the time anyway)....and he'll run out of "budgetary projection" money unless he thinks up a coastal spaceship from L.A. to Frisco he can convince Cali voters to approve....which he might.....and once you combine that with the state/public employee pension black hole that EVERYBODY (including yourself, sunshine) likes to forget about.....we'll be in the spotlight of the Federal microscope and I'll be kicking you to the front of the line so you can explain to the other 49....maybe you & Jerry .......why they should bail you out.

And that's only a couple of the problems this state has going on fiscally!

But keep telling yourself that your buddy, Jerry, is doing you right.

P.S. I HIGHLY encourage everyone in this state to sign the petition to stop the crazy train & end Brown's budgetary surplus bafoonery so we can start creating a budget that works like a budget should!
