Well i bit the bullet and bought my e6600 for 380 at a local retailer and got a nforce 570 chipset to hold me over until the 590s come out. Canceled my order at buy.com. My e6600 was $60 more than buy.com but i have it. Price I pay for my impatience. BTW
i got both at http://www.centralcomputer.com/. They had about 30 or so e6600 physically on site. Saw them my self. if you are in the SF bay area you can get it here or even order it online if you are not in the bay area. goin to put it together NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Finally

lol what a rip off. Any newbie could overclock a 6600 that extra 270mhz to give them the same exact performance as the 6700 but save themselves several hundred.

What I really want to know is when the hell is buy.com getting more 6600's in. I've watched ZZF & NewEgg get shipment after shipment in, but have yet to see Buy.com's page ever change. I've kept my pre-order because its the best price I've found anywhere but I'm sick of waiting.

Yah but I'm starting to believe that Intel actually bins E6700 from E6600. TankGuys pulled through for me and I got an E6700 for $573.

Not sure if anyone has mentioned this as of late, but NewEgg seems to have stopped their early gouging and is charging pretty reasonable prices for the retail versions of the C2Ds now.

Bump for update - cancelled at shopblt after it was apparent that their E6600's got pushed back to the 25th. We would like it at our door by that weekend. Although they do have E6700's in stock so if anyone wants that feel free.

Placed my new order with isorm.com, they confirmed about 10 minutes ago that they had stock in their Tampa FL warehouse, and that orders placed before 4:30EST would be shipped today.

We'll see if they make good on their words. So far antaresdigital (P5W MB), sundialmicro (case), and newegg (a lot of parts) seem to have the fastest and most helpful customer service.

hey EROE, yeah darn shame about ShopBLT, I got my e6400 coming today at 3pm, fedex overnight, that'll finish my rig:

newegg (vid card) zipzoomfly (cpu/mobo/ram) , i didnt like NewEgg's UPS shipping, they require signature, so I wasnt home, had to drive to the shipping facility to get it. ZipZoomFly has fedex for great price, no signature required.

just my personal experience, ill be posting on here once i get my rig setup (crosses fingers) without any hitches.

Really? Only one of our newegg UPS shipments (the first one) required a sig, all the rest were good to go.

Grats to those earlier on the waitlist at shopblt, you got it for a great price. Isorm's pricing is more in line with newegg, although from what I can tell their service is very prompt. You may have to select UPS 3-day if you want it by this weekend.

Well, I couldn't wait for shopblt anymore either, so Friday afternoon I went and picked up everything at mwave (I live in the area and they have a will call department that I really like). I wound up paying an extra $70 but I had everything up and running Friday night and got to play all weekend, so I am happy. Now I just need to get something better than the stock heatsink so I can overclock without cooking it...

what is everyone getting heat wise on the e6400's stock heatsinkfan?

im idling at 45C, with a generic computer case, the case temp itself is about 30C, Mobo is at 31C.

other peoples stats with the stock fan?

Full load for me on the E6600 is 45C and about 38C idle. This is on the stock fan/heatsink. I pushed down really hard on the heatsink into the motherboard and I used Arctic Silver Ceramique.
