The ?war on terror? was one of the most significant responses to terrorism. The ?war on terror? began on March 19th, 2003 called ?Operation Iraqi Freedom?. This was a fight that was supposedly used to destroy Iraq?s terrorist connections and also find Saddam Hussein?s weapons of mass destruction. Both the terrorist connections and the weapons of mass destruction were never found, so the war itself was found to be unjustifiable. The war itself indirectly caused some change in our civil liberties along with bringing up the threat of a military draft. The draft, to this date, has never been enacted, either.
The ?war on terror? was probably the one thing, however, that prompted most of the change in our nation to what it is today. As a result of the ?war on terror?, the Patriot Act was signed.
