Overall I liked the presentation, I like how they focused on games at least.

I still haven't bought PS4 or XB1. MS has been making all the right moves recently.

Well exclusives is what I look at for the xb1 since all the multiplat games will either be better on PC or ps4.

I didn't get to watch the presentation, will have to try to find it after I get home in an hour.




Interesting article from ign. The premise of it is that the reason that Halo Master Chief collection exists is because Halo multiplayer is dying. Halo 4 peaked at 400,000 users but lost half of that user base two weeks later when CoD came out and those players never came back. They are using the collection with all the original multiplayer features intact as a testbed for halo 5 multiplayer. Apparently they want to see what version of halo multiplayer is the most popular among today's gamers and use them to get feedback from fans so they can build halo 5 correctly and give it some legs. They were not happy with how quickly halo 4's online community died out. I can see where they are coming from.

That's an interesting article and an interesting way to go about it. We as gamers end up winning though as we get great Halo games out of it. More Halo is never a bad thing.

Online gaming is a real challenge nowadays there are too many great options, and sequels every year or two. A game is lucky if it can sustain a few thousand regular players.

I've heard the name mentioned in passing, but I've no idea what it is, sorry. Nintendo stuff from the GameCube through the Wii, I'm not to keen on. That, and movies. The movies I've not seen often surprises people, haha.

What about Xenogears for PS1? Same people again mostly.

I think the main people behind the games are the same between Xenogears, Xenoblade Chronicles and the new game X.

Oh, I was just ripping on it a bit. It was a pre-rendered video showing a dragon fighting this weird monster and then an even bigger monster showing up (a hydra) along with some other friendly dragons.

A lil dissapointed if this is all. I'll be checking it out tonight while waiting on D3 RIFS. A lil excited about HALO though. So long as co-op and all that is back. Will easily be worth the asking price, if they upgrade the graphics slightly. Look foward to introducing my son to the Halo world.

Gears has only been in-house for a couple of months, and there's usually a 2-year gap between those games. So, I'd say it's a late-2015 release AT BEST, probably 2016. Showing it now wouldn't do much good, because they would give you a grizzly voice and a logo, nothing else. We know it's in-development, it will be an exclusive, and Black Tusk is doing it. They couldn't have had time to give more information than the Internet already has.

Madden sounds improved, but I don't believe it. Not a hockey fan. Not a Dragon Age person. Not a UFC fan. Golf fan, but that game's not close.

So, it looks like 2014 will end without a single EA purchase.

For anyone interested in watching the entire Microsoft E3 presentation there is an app on the Xbox One called "Xbox Live Events" and they have the entire thing available on demand in HD. The video is about 2 hours long but the presentation officially starts at around the 31:00 mark.

Download and open the app and press A on the video, it takes a few minutes to begin but you can fast forward through it to get to the big stage presentation if you wish (I did). I'm gonna watch it all the way through. They also have every game trailer that they presented in the Xbox store. To get there quickly select "Games revealed at E3" under the featured heading on your XB1 home screen.

After Battlefield 4 I'm very wary of anything from DICE in the FPS genre. That's why I am glad they aren't pushing hard to get Star Wars Battlefront out the door. They basically just said they are being respectful to the game and will use the original trilogy (ep 4-6) as the basis for the game.

I just don't care about Battlefield anything anymore.

This I know but the netcode is still atrocious in Battlefield so unless they redid that I'll be disappointed.

Nothing really exciting thus far.

The most interesting things I saw were Scalebound, which I'll watch very catuiously, and Ori and the Blind Forest, w hich I'll pick up when it is cheap on a steam sale.

Battlefront looks interesting, but that is lightyears away.

Witcher 3 looks really good, but that has been on my to-buy list forever.

What it comes down to is EA has been on my bad list for years now. This had me intrigued, heard there was a beta, thought I'd try it, then got the "PC and PS4," which put me right back out of it.

There was no announcement of when/if the One would get beta access, but I can guarantee my interest will have severely waned by the time it makes it onto the One, if it does at all.

Yeah, partially exclusive content on multiplatform games is incredibly annoying and off-putting.
