Played a bit and got bored pretty quick. A new paint job on the same game. Not saying thats a bad thing, just not for me. Class based racing is as dead as ever which is sad.

What do you mean by class racing is dead? Do you mean it's boring to race with weak cars or that online everyone uses upgraded hypercars?

The trigger feedback, tire physics, and drivatars are fantastic improvements IMO. I would like some more tracks ASAP but I am otherwise very pleased.

The trigger feedback is annoying to me. I very much would like to do away with that "feature". The analog stick feels very odd sometimes. It is just too tall. Minor gripes.

Interesting, I find it gives a much more accurate representation of how close you are to losing grip than trying to listen or use the standard rumble. Giving an option to turn it off would probably be smart either way.

D/C/B/A racing is a ghost town

It pretty much was in 4 too.

It's a shame because it was excellent in 1 and 2 and is where I lived online.

This is why you need friends or a group that does races like this. We used to do like only stock B class races and such. It was a blast. Better than 99.9% of the public lobbies with all unicorn cars.

Ahh...yeah I understand. Everyone wants to use their upgraded McLaren p1 and formula one/indy cars.

Is there any way to quit out of an event after it has been started? I wanted to start Forza 5 last night and maybe just get into a single race, but the game just kept going... and going... and going. I was about to start yelling at the stupid game, "Ugh, Forza, stop making me do $@#%! I want to go to bed!" :|

Yeah... I wonder why they did that. It obviously is an intended design decision.

You know, you could've just turned off your Xbox and picked up the next day right where you left off?

The Xbox One is kind of changing the game when it comes to exiting and resuming games. And I'm loving it!

That's what I did. I wasn't too sure if it would work, but at that point, I just didn't care! Overall, I was more frazzled about it, because when I was at the race class selection screen, I don't think I ever chose anything. In fact, I was planning on stopping at that point, and all of a sudden, the game has me choosing my car. "Bad Forza!"

They really screwed up IMO. They should let you turn off the commentary and tutorial. I dont care about listening to the guy from top gear talk about how he fantasizes over formula one racing and how he gets a woody from the tech in the cars. I dont care to hear a 2 minute speech about the class. They should have simply asked if you have played forza before and if so just let you jump right in. Dirt 3 had the same issue and I hated it. I dont want to have some voiceover interrupt me in an unskippable way.

Yeah the ladies voice has gotten on my nerves. Why couldn't they have gotten top gear guys to do that part as well?

anyone else notice that simulation steering has gotten a LOT more direct feeling? In forza 4 I always still felt that there was some dampening of the inputs going on but it no longer feels that way in F5. Cars prone to snap oversteer really show it with sim steering on. you basically can almost never go full left or right on the stick without fishtailing.

i love the trigger vibration though. a lot more feedback and even though it might not be realistic, makes it more possible to race without ABS for example.

I started up the game last night and did my first series. After all the races were done, it wanted me to start a new one. How do I get to the screen where I can tune and upgrade my car?

You need to do like 4 or 5 races and complete your drivatar, then finish the first series. After that you go to the autovista/garage area and are presented with menu where you can buy cars and all that. If you go back from there you can enter the tuning area where you can buy parts.

It was frustrating me at first that I could not skip out of any of this and do it at my pace.

I cannot play with many of the assists off so I have not tried it. Not yet. I need more time.

Ok. I finished the first series and completed my drivatar, but the game wanted me to pick another series right away and I didn't see any options to go to a garage. I'll check it out tonight when I get on.

I cannot remember the exact details of how but not long after that you get your freedom. I think it was a terrible decision to force this tutorial on us. It should be optional.

I do hate forced tutorials. I really hated it in GTA online. I just want to upgrade the handling on the crappy starting car. Thanks.

I'm a bit of a Top Gear fanboy, so I like the parts with any of those blokes.
