as someone too lazy to read through all 6000+ posts in this thread - now that i've just figured out what gmail is, can someone tell me why an invite is required? i would have thought they would want people to sign up, just as hotmail and yahoo do.

if someone feels that a visual aid would help the explanation, please feel free to send an invite to hoobihoobi@yahoo.com - I'll pass the good karma along...

wow, hard to believe all of this is just over being an early adopter of something that will be available to the public at large soon... guess it only really matters if you're hoping to be "john@gmail.com" or something like that... unless i'm missing something?

it seems the invites have stopped coming in, my last "round" was over a week ago and I only got 1 invite. the peeps i invited on the 2nd and 3rd round i got arent getting any either.
