Hey guys, I'm looking for a bluetooth remote control app for my iphone to control my HTPC.
I know this is the ipad thread but I figured this question could apply here as well.
All of the remote control apps I've found, such as XBMC and Boxee apps, work through wifi. Is there anything that works through bluetooth?

I can download any iphone app on there as well, but does the one you are referring to have the ability to match you up with a random person to play?

Note Taker I've used it many times on my Iphone.

Is there a demo of this app? (At work right now so I can't check) I have a Athlon X4 media center/server running at 1.4GHz at home and am wondering if it can transcode properly.

(even at 1.4GHz, it plays 1080p content like butter.)

Yup, just like words with friends. Although it seems there's no ipad native chess with friends app, which sucks.

does anyone know what would happen if our household had a single netflix account but multiple devices used to access netflix? ie - i start watching a show in the morning and pause then my wife logs in later from a different device and starts watching a different show and pauses.

do i lose my place in the show i was watching?
does she start where i left off?
can we both be logged in at the same time?

i'm guessing: yes, yes, no but wanted to confirm.

I downloaded this one, but the moves take forever to send back and forth to a random player. I've been playing an ongoing game for like 3 days now with someone.

There isn't a realtime, match-making chess app? Man...

airvideo uses ffmpeg by default. so transcoding you know what it can do.

the bitrates are extremely low over 3G due to apple restrictions. but you probably know that is the same for all apps (hence 3gunrestrictor)

AirVideo so far is the best app out there. Playing my video files anywhere there's wifi is just crazy. My wife couldn't believe it when I showed her while we were at Starbucks. My i5 650 seems to be transcoding it fine. I tried running it too while my sister was watching something else on my computer and the video performance on either didn't seem to get affected.

Colorsplash is another app I can spend hours playing with.

I use ComicZeal to read comics. Reading Blackest Night and Civil War alternately right now.

I enrolled in the Netflix trial period just to see how the app works and that's another awesome app. I immediately cancelled my blockbuster online subscription. Because now I have 4 options to watch movies from: mail-in, iPad, PC and Wii streaming. For $10.99 I think it's a steal at twice the price.

I'd like to get more input on different remote desktop apps like TeamViewer, Wyse, or Logmein. Are there much of a difference for these apps?

My mom asks a lot of computer questions and it's been hard to diagnose over the phone.

wyse owns. hands down RDP. works great with vmware view 4 too.

logmein is for end-users. i wouldn't have that junk near my servers with a 20000 foot pole.

there's a ton of RDP/VNC apps out there. pick your budget.

StreamtoMe is better than air video in respect it does music too. but was lacking dyndns (whoopie).

Since I'm looking to get an RDP or VNC app quickly, can you guys recommend one or two, preferably between $5-15, but even up to $25. There're too many that I can keep track of, and am not sure what makes one better than the other.

For PDF's you can load them into Dropbox, and then open it inside of dropbox, click on 'Open With' then click iBooks.. It will import the PDF as a book in your list.

This was mentioned on LifeHacker, but I wasn't able to try it until I was given an iPad
