This is why i never deal with 3rd parties when buying an iphone.

I remember AT&T and best buy telling me up until the day iPhone 4's were delivered that they would have the white version in stock. 6 months later the white iPhone 4 is finally released!

It was 10 months and 4 days.

Mine shows Shipped on ATT's website and shows Qty as 1 and 1 shipped for the sim and phone, but I still got an email today (after it changed to shipped, like 6 hours later) saying it would be 14-21 days. It's crazy how this has taken down carrier's order systems so badly, I don't even think Apple's order system is correctly updating people, but people are finding workarounds to find their shipping info on UPS's and FedeX's sites and they have their shit together and the orders are all being tracked on there.

My tracking number just came through, getting it on the 21st

ahh, you suck! My credit card is still only showing pending charges rather than posted charge so I'm not getting it til sometime in Oct. I guess I'm buying another month of Straight Talk.

Just a warning for anyone flying over Dublin, Ireland any time soon...

iOS maps have marked a 35 acre site in the middle of Dublin city as an airport because the name of the area is called AirField! Lets hope they have done a better job state side where some American Pilots have been given iPads...

I wonder is New York marked as a massive orchard?!

Yeah I finally got my tracking this morning, getting delivered tomorrow by 3pm, too bad my case/screen protector won't be here by then.

I have a pending charge for the full amount (no $1 pre-authorization), but nothing from Verizon.

EDIT:

From what I've read, the 10/5 thing just means they're working on your order. It no longer says 10/5 on the one pre-order status page (it doesn't say anything for the date). The order status page from the e-mail actually has some information now and states 9/21.

I never got the white iP4. Didn't realize it took that long!

Seriously tho, just goes to show how clueless AT&T/Best Buy/VZW are when it comes to apple preorders

Swiss Federal Railways is pissed that Apple has stolen their clock for the iPad Clock app.

SBB are the sole owner of the trademarks and copyrights of the station clock, said Ginsig. The railway company will now seek to Apple. The aim would a legal and financial solution.

Clock app, from iJailbreak:

Wow, it's basically an exact copy, aside from the missing logo.

Actually, that was 100% Apple's fault. They didn't acknowledge any problems with the white iPhone 4 until WAY too late and, even then, they kept promising them "soon."

Oh yeah I totally agree it was apples fault about the white iPhones.

However, I read a couple days before it was released that white iPhones would *not* be available on launch day. I am just saying that as a consumer I knew more about the product not being delivered than AT&T did.

Good to see you are sticking to your guns on what a copy is, even when its flipped the other way.

As for me I think its an exact copy. Apple should probably change this.

The seconds hand with a round end doesn't strike you as unique? Other than that the rest of the clock is fine.

Honestly most products are just products. However, there's defining features that make products unique. When you copy those defining features it's pretty obvious you were going for the copy.

It's kinda like the samsung apple deal. It's not rounded edges that define the iPhone. There are specific features such as the dock (which Android didn't have initially), and the iOS-like icons that pretty much suggested they were going for an iOS look.

If anyone knows about suing over design patents, it's Apple.

I got my tracking number. Does Verizon normally list the second address line? I noticed that it's only listing the first one, which means it doesn't have my apartment number. The complex office knows who I am, so that's not a huge deal if it gets delivered there. Maybe I ought to start putting it all on one line (e.g. "000 Blah St. Apt 000")

I dont really think it matters.

Its not as if the iPad is pretending to be a Swiss railway station.

Sometimes a clock is just a clock.

Just FYI, that clock design is considered iconic. I agree, IMO it is very distinctive.

Remarkable clocks and watches: the Swiss railway clock

The clock displayed at all the stations of the Swiss federal railways (SBB) has become a design classic. It was created in the 1940s by engineer and designer Hans Hilfiker (1901-93), who at that time was an SBB employee. The SBB wanted a clock that would not only guarantee the smooth running of the trains, but would become part of their national image.
The clock face is simple and strong. There are no figures: the minutes are denoted by black lines on the white face. The hour and minute hands are also black. Against this black and white background the red second hand stands out. It was nicknamed the "rote Kelle" or "red signal" because of the red disc at the end of it, mimicking the hand-held signal which the station manager used to wave to tell the driver the train could leave.

The red hand, which pauses for 1.5 seconds when it reaches the top of the minute, is clearly visible at a distance. It has become a symbol of Swiss punctuality.

The clock represents Switzerland so well that examples were included among the 100 clocks which the country presented to St Petersburg on the occasion of the 2003 tercentenary of the Russian city's foundation.

Also, SBB actually makes money off this design, even now, since they sell replicas of this clock.

How does that work then?

If it does that surely its not marking seconds any more.

Yeah everything looked fine until the seconds hand. Then it's pretty obvious.

Sorry, West coast. East will have deliveries 3 hours earlier than you.

Don't blame me. I didn't design this star system.

Got mine about an hour ago from UPS. Have it restored and setup now. Weird that I still have service on my old phone too.
