Orders from Apple have slipped. Carriers are still delivering on 9/21. AT&T seems to be having the same old problems they always have if you are trying to upgrade. Fuck em. I am about to cancel my entire account. Its ridiculous they continue to have the same fucking problems 4 years in a row. Sprint and Verizon havent had problems.

I went to pre-order the ip5 but it says I'm not eligible for the 1-year upgrade price ($549) until October 15th. Boh!

I tried at apple.com and att.com for 10-20 minutes at 3AM, no go .. they all crashed.

I tried att.com at 8am, got two in.. 64gb white and 64gb black, hope they come in 1-2 weeks!

Well, clearly the iPhone 5 is an unmitigated disaster. It took a whole hour for the pre-orders to sell out.

Did my pre-orders with Verizon last night. It wouldn't let me upgrade her phone and add a line (to move mine from AT&T) in a single order, so I did her upgrade first then added my line as a separate order. Hers worked, mine didn't. Went to Verizon store this morning to fix it - apparently I have to set mine up as a new individual plan (on her account), and then when the phones arrive we can switch the plan up. I'm slightly apprehensive about this after my previous experience trying to merge a Verizon FiOS account with her Verizon Wireless account. They say I'll have the phone next Friday though - they hadn't sold out of their preorders yet by noon.

I got on the AT&T website from my iphone 4 at 5:30 eastern this morning, processed my 16gb black iPhone 5 upgrade, and it gave me a ship date of 9/21. About 12:30 pm, I got a text message saying that my order was processed.

I wonder if 9/21 was just smoke being blown up my arse... we'll see.

Yeah, I had the same issue. I actually ordered from Apple before it even registered in the brain that the phone comes out next Friday.

So I went on Verizon around 8:00AM eastern and was able to order one. Does Apple give most of their supply to the carries?

I went to the Verizon store this morning and ordered one without an issue. It's pretty much the exact same thing as it gets delivered to your house.

If you're curious, Monoprice does have cases. They're a little more expensive than their usual $1 cases, but they're a little fancier. They do a weird thing with the speakers though... they have vents on the front that route the audio upward.

ATT Premier blows. It didn't allow Premier account holders to order until 6:15 eastern.

Everyone with a Premier account got the same "as soon as 9/21". Mine still says pre-order processing but they have fully charged my card. And I've heard from people that the Premier website doesn't update shit until the day before your item ships. So I won't find out if I am getting it on 9/21 or Oct 5, until 9/20. Sucks ass. AT&T really should get their shit together.

Yeah I just read that all per-orders are now pushed back at least 1 week. So if you per-ordered your looking at a delivery now of Sept 28th :-( I ordered mine for sprint at about 6:30 am pst time. I wonder if I made the first cut...

But 5 is not going to do the job.
Already the 5 is for sale everywhere (pre sale) so I expect apple expects failure.
The screen size is a huge miss from what was expected.
For the first time I'm considering jumping off the apple train.
AT&T just sent me an offer for a HTC large screen phone. I might just do it.

Ya, this is sad for me to say as even though I'm not an apple fan, I do use an iPad and had an original 1st gen iPod touch which was just an amazing device to me. (I still have it and it still works great)

No Steve Jobs. No magic.

I think having an iPad Mini would have helped significantly but I'm with another poster here........I think the new Nano is probably the most intriguing of the new devices.



Although, admittedly, perhaps all of this touch device technology is reaching diminishing returns and it's time to move on to something else.

You guys are hilarious. Keep on complaining about how Apple is failing while the preorders sell out like mad. And the screen size was exactly what was expected - what crack are you smoking?
