Kaido,

Your hand is fatiguing because of reaching up farther for the back button? Because of the moment from the extra height needs to be countered? Because it's a little too thin?

I think it's the height. The lighter weight is really nice and I don't mind the thinness (would almost prefer the thicker grip of the 4S with the thinness of the 5). I'm getting used to it, but I've had some hand pain from it (I do not have carpal tunnel fwiw). I'm sure that would happen with any larger phone though...I've had a 3.5" phone forever (4S, 3GS, 3, 1), so I've been used to that size for the last 5 years. Wow, has it been that long?

Ended up upgrading on Sat. Bought a 32g Black Sprint one for $640 on craigslist, was still sealed in the box. Sold my 4s for $375 on ebay, so not to terrible to upgrade.

I do like how light the new one is. Now if we would get some LTE would be great.

Hmm my max with LTE seems to be about 20/12 in my area. I remember reading something about the LTE deployment affecting your max speeds (I forget the terms associated with it). I'm guessing that my area may not have the faster setup?

What does this mean? Seems contradicting. Imo its a bit too thin without a case. Also, i may just not be used to it, but it is kind of annoying that its so long lol.

Sorry, didn't realize I had typed that weird. I meant, I would almost prefer the thicker grip of the 4S - as opposed to the thinner grip of the iPhone 5, which is almost too thin. I have to hold the 5 in a fingertip grip because it's tall and thin. The 4S was a bit easier to hold because it was shorter and thicker. But I usually use a case anyway (Boost battery case on my 4S), which made it easier to grip in my hand.

Waiting on a battery case for the 5 to come out now!

Holy moley at first I didn't have LTE here, but now I do and it's almost 27mb/s up and down!

I kind of giggle like a school girl every time I use it. I used to get .2Mbps at my desk at work (on HSPA+) with 2 bars of signal, which required me to hold it in just the right spot. Now I get 4-6Mbps with 2 bars of signal at my desk. I want an app downloaded right now... that's no prob, Bob!

Consistently getting 2 bars on my Verizon LTE (just outside Hartford). Ping is 235ms, 9 Mbps down, 0.05 Mbps up. I just leave it off and use 3G. I usually get less than a meg down on 3G (closer to like 0.20 sometimes), but I get faster upload speeds and more consistent performance, so I'll stick with that for now. Honestly I'm fairly happy with 3G...sometimes I have to wait, but usually it's quick enough for mobile data stuff that it's fine. I'm sure the LTE in the area will improve over the next year or so.

So how much data you consumed so far

Does anyone else have a really anemic speakerphone? Like worse than the 4S? Mine sounds really tin-ny (like inside a tin can, borderline distorted at the higher volumes) and is just not very loud overall.

My speakerphone is sooo loud and surprisingly decent quality! Definitely happy about that as i use it a lot. I have to put it in a case and see how it sounds, because my 4 was in a case so its not apples to apples. I did not have a 4s though. Exchange it!

I'll hear back from Apple on the camera issue later this week, so I'll decide what to do then. Currently leaning towards downgrading back to the 4S, due the purple haze issue on the camera.

Finally did some playing on the iPhone 5 today. I was kinda underwhelmed. The speed boost was noticeable, and it was nice to have a wider screen in landscape mode, but that was about it. The owner of that one said the same thing, except he really appreciated finally having LTE. In Toronto it's an enormous real world improvement over 3G.

No scratches on his yet.

I think part of my getting a new phone will depend upon getting an updated data plan over 1 GB/month at a decent price. I want a long-lasting LTE phone, but need to negotiate a decent plan. For me 2 GB would be good enough I think.

Yeah that's pretty much my experience. I'm an iPhone nerd and will upgrade anyway, but LTE is really sparse here so that's actually more of a downgrade for me.

Taking photos kinda ticks me off because you only see a crop of the final image on the widescreen - it adds more pixels on the top and bottom of the photo when you take it, and then puts the black bars on each side. I'd rather just have the black bars on each side while I'm shooting and then not have to manually crop it to fix it to where I framed it originally

Not too much. I should stay within the 2GB bounds if my data use remains consistent. I think my biggest use was downloading a few apps for kicks and using Splashtop. I'm curious how much Splashtop will use now that it has so much more bandwidth available!

If I'm being completely honest, I'd almost prefer to have a 3G style body. It felt really good in the hand.

The 4 and 5 felt like they were more solid, but I thought the 3G was more comfortable to hold.

I find the 4 nicer to hold than the 3G. I always felt like the 3G was going to slip out of my hand because of the smooth curved plastic back.

And yeah, the 4 is definitely more solid. I got the cracks in the 3G.

Yeah, I definitely preferred the old 3G form factor with the rounded back more as well. Filled my hand better than the flat backs of the 4 and 5.

Yeah, I always felt that the bar-of-soap shape of the 3G was an accident waiting to happen. I am not one to drop my phones, but I did drop my 3G - it didn't break the screen but it did ding the phone up quite a bit. I really like the form factor of the iPhone 4/4S, though it's a little heavy.
