That and there was a lot of fodder for a while when the console was brand new and people who had maybe one game could play KI free and they tried it. Some people probably ranked up just because of the number of people. It will thin out I'm sure.

I don't know what the answer is but ranking is so fucked, well at least in NZ/AU. I'm lvl 10 but there are so so many level 15-25s that are really really bad players, like should be lvl 3 or 4. I'm fairly certain that loads of people rank up really high because if there is even the slightest chance they can lose they menu quit out so they never lose ranking points .

On the flip side I have also seen heaps of SP 1 MP 1 ranked players that are really really good so smurfing seems to be an issue as well.

if you are level 10 and beating the level 15-25 people that you think suck, then that is good for you becase you get more points and rank you up quicker, so i don't see the problem. i think the actual ranking point system is very well done to be honest. and it is hard to get to rank 20 being really bad at this game. i've noticed the higher ranked players i play, the less chance of ragequits too, which is good.

Thats the issue though, I have had dozens of them rage quit on me. I hardly ever beat any of the 15-20s as they rage quit so they don't lose heaps of points.

They need to figure out some way of identifying and penalising it. hopefully as you posted they sort this soon.

I also really want them to allow the combo pack to be upgraded to the ultra pack for the price difference rather than a full re-purchase

on a side note, I had a friend over and let him use my TE2 stick and I used the controller, man o man its hard to go back to using a pad after spending a month with the stick exclusively. <3 my TE2

yeah you can usually tell in the firs 5-10 seconds if someone is good or not at those levels. i am curious to see what their ragequit solution is.

I wonder how they will know it's a ragequit and not someone who was getting laggy and eventually just lost connection. Is there a way to tell if someone is having connection issues? From what I read the game doesn't pause or stop, maybe I misunderstood.

no clue. i'm 100% for them punishing anyone who disconnects for ANY reason. rage quit or bad connection, it doesn't matter to me. it's not like you disconnect because of a random bad connection very often, and if you do, then you gotta fix your internet because that's not normal.

This. Yes, it sucks for those once a year random internet hiccups that causes legitimate players to disconnect, but for the other 99.9999% of DCs, it is entirely their fault. You are either rage quitting or have awful internet. Neither of which should be up in ranked matchmaking.

Gave it a run today, and at least 3 quaters Of my matches got disconnected, especially if I knock them down first and I can't rank up. Why so many pussies? At least it doesn't happen in exhibition.

It seems like they need to implement a good matchmaking system, because you utterly destroyed that guy. Being utterly destroyed isn't fun -- it's frustrating. Playing against someone at your level or a bit above is fine. You might enjoy it though, because he's a slightly more randomized training dummy.

no it's not fun either lol. thing is, i'm not that good at the game, i get raped too.

but that guy probably SHOULDNT be the rank he is, rank 8. he's not losing points when he loses because he is rage quitting. but when he wins, he doesn't quit. so his point are only going up and never down, so he's higher than he should be.

i personally think the ranking system in this game is great. when you lose to people much higher than you, you hardly lose any points and they hardly gain any. and vice versa when you lose to people lower than you - you lose a lot of points. so in the end, it evens out very nicely.

but the ragequitters are ruining it. i'm done with ranked until the implement their ragequit fix though. i played 6 matches last night in ranked. 4 were ragequits, the other 2 were loses. and one of the losses i had, i played the same exact immediately after, and he ragequit on me. so wtf. it's just retarded.

i agree with that solution 100%. if my net craps out on me, it's my fault not the other guys. this past weekend for the first time since i've moved into this house in 2012, my net disconnected while i was on ki. came back a few minutes later, but i woulda had no prob with an L for it. it wasn't even in ranked, it was exhibition, but i'd be fine with them giving me a loss for it, and it was even against a friend of mine.

if anyone is ever trying to get some matches let me know, i'm always trying to get better at this game. i really don't play it as much as i wish i did though, usually mainly play on the weekends, but i'd hop on during the week to get some matches in with people if they wanna play.

Ahh, okay... that makes a lot of sense. At least the guy shouldn't go up much since you mentioned that he has to beat people above him to gain more points, and chances are, he won't do that.

Eh, I guess I just don't figure that there's nearly as much to learn when you're just getting annihilated the whole time. I don't think "what they do" is too valid as won't most players be fairly different? However, the one thing that the guy could really go back and look at would be all those lockouts that he got.

getting your ass totally rocked is the only way you will ever learn how to block in a fighter. it will also teach you what moves of yours are unsafe to just mash out there and what gets beat by what. getting rocked quickly teaches you things.

the problem is, the people that ragequit don't want to learn to get better. they just want to think they are better than they are and have a rank higher than they deserve, which is why they ragequit in the first place.

The real problem with online is that habit that is getting you destroyed will not go diagnosed and you will just keep getting destroyed. Always try and spot what is getting you hit the most and what you're weaknesses are. It also helps to join some lobbies with people who actually talk and all try and get better.

I am not worried too much about the rage quitters. If they keep doing that, eventually, they will hit a rank where they just have to rage quit every match.
