09er is a term referred (in a negative light) to anyone who got into the FGC because of SF4 (which released in 09). It brought a large amount of life into the FGC and some people are put off by it. But, the arcades closing across America, I don't see how having more people in the scene could be bad. I think the real problem is most of them are just upset nobody gives a shit about their "claim to fame". The fact they beat or almost beat somebody in some tournament 15 years ago doesn't mean shit to somebody that doesn't know who Daigo is.

At some point along the chain, something is most likely going to end up upscaling the sub-1080p image to fit properly on your 1080p screen. If I had to guess, the X1 will use a digital scaler to upscale it from 720p to 1080p prior to transmission. The only time the console should actively change the resolution is with 3D gaming content as that will use 720p60 versus 1080p30. Although, I have seen my AVR report quite a few resolution changes while gaming on my PS3. :hmm:

No, the tv automatically scales it to fit the panel.

no shit numbnuts that is what has already been said. and depending on what does the scaling can cause input lag issues as well, which is why i'm hoping it's developed to happen on the console and not the tv so that there won't be any intermittent lag. since it's a fighter, i'm guessing they will handle it on the dev side of things.

The dojo mode does look pretty good, for some reason the game looks extremely fast to me in that video. I won't be able to keep up.

Not a huge fan of the KI edition TE2. I hope a generic version comes out. I actually prefer those over the flashy graphic ones.

I've always been curious about how the Razer fightstick was. I hope I can find someone with one this tournament season to try it out.

the artwork is very easily replaceable on it. you don't even have to take the buttons out. you just have to take the top plastic part off (which the buttons are attached to) and unscrew the balltop and take it off.

I forgot about MarkMan talking about that. That is a great feature. I am sure a slew of people will pop up selling art for sticks now.

i hope they make custom faceplates for them too. i am not a fan of the offset buttons. i prefer them to be right on top of eachother.

Yea this is vewlix style again it appears.

its kind of surprising the ki defaults to viewlix style, considering it's an american made game and historically speaking, americans have used the sf2 style happ layout. but the past gen everyone got used to the viewlex so i can see why they did it too. and the fact they are using jap parts also, instead of happ.

I don't think any serious sticks use Happ parts anymore. Maybe some cheap Hori ones, but since the TE, everything has been either Sanwa or Semitsu as far as I can remember.

Button layout isn't an issue for me (except for the awful MK layout). Either one I am comfortable with.

Honestly the MK layout works for MK because that's what was in the arcades and it has the block button placed for moves that require back + LP, BLK, LK. The stick that came with the MK special edition used happ parts with an 8 direction bat top stick.

Other than that vewlix seems to be it. Even the soul calibur sticks used it.

also apparently there are LED lights on some of the borders of the buttons and the LEDs will blink when you have instinct mode for the HK/HP buttons. a small tweet about the lights.

sadira looks very interesting. i think as of right now, even though we haven't seen her yet, that i will be maining orchid. i used to back in the day (along with combo) and think i may continue trying to use her in this one. i used to be good with all 10 characters in ki. but i was REALLY good (and still am) with combo, and orchid was my 2nd best. then i was pretty good with pretty much everyone else except spinal. i was just okay with him. i don't remember any of spinals shit anymore though, i was trying to use him the other day and nah, didn't work out too well.
