on another note, maybe Minnesota will decide to play defense next game. All in all, I wouldn't be surprised if the lakers swept this first round. The team they will have trouble with, though, is the spurs. I mean, Lakers got swept in the regular season.

And I know you Laker fans are nervous about that matchup

thats why we are happy the Suns beat them in game 1...i believe the suns won all but 1 against the spurs in the regular season too

are you a lakers fan? or are you just jumping on the bandwagon? if you were a lakers fan, you would not be worried about facing the spurs in the second round. you would know the history between these two teams in the playoffs. you would know the lakers have the spurs number in the playoffs. that said, fvck the suns, bring on the spurs!

you're so fvcking clueless it's sad. there are to many factors that can alter the results of regular season games. some of which are injuries, back to back games, basketball becomes a job and can get boring when practicing and playing all year long, personal issues, and others.

come playoff time, you don't have back to back games, you play through injuries, it's no longer a job but a true competition. if the lakers and spurs meet in the second round, mark my words, the lakers will win the series in 5 or 6 games.

from your handle, i gather you're a kings fan? well, there's one thing that won't change for your kings in the playoffs. webber will remain the soft bitch that he is, he'll always complain on every non-call and then disappear at the end of important games. lucky for you kings fans, you've got bibby.

simmer down there cowboy. I don't like the kings, and I would like to see the lakers beat the spurs instead of the suns, but chill out man, it's just a game.

bwahahaha. when the nba finals is all said and done, phil will have a championship ring on every finger. the kings could be a good series, but floppin' divac and i-cant-come-through-when-needed-in-playoffs webber will be the downfall. bibby will come through, and peja will hit crucial shots. but horry and fisher and perhaps even george will hit those clutch shots. then the lakers will head to the finals and assimilate whatever team the eastern conference throws at them.

Go T-Wolves!!

Ok now that I have blindly supported my team I can come back to reality. The only way we stand a chance is if we can find someway to stop either Kobe or Shaq. It's not likely but that's what it's going to take. At this point I'd like to see KG match up with Kobe on defense and see what he can do. I think it would be an interesting matchup.

Thinking ahead, I wonder if Garnett stays in Minnesota past next season?

The Lakers are going to win this series but you have to feel for Kevin Garnett.
That poor guy will never get out of the first round.

If he really wants to get out of the first round, he should leave.
Otherwise continue making his 20 million or wutever he gets and never have a chance for a championship...

I dont think its such a hopeless situation for him, granted I dont see them becoming a perennial powerhouse but an above average center would do a lot for that team. I also think they need o get rid of Szcerbiak. He's too one dimensional.

Every city riots when their team wins. Remember Chicago? The riots after the Lakers won is nothing compared to what happened there.
Anyway, there is no rivalry between the two teams. LA has historically owned the Kings. The Kings have never beat the Lakers in any playoff series. Until Sacramento can show they can beat the Lakers, I won't change my mind. The truth is, NOBODY on that team WANTS the ball at the last second. Bibby said he "doesn't mind," and Webber and Peja choke.
Oh and I'm not part of the bandwagon. I've been a fan even through the tough Sedale Threat days.

I'm glad to hear Stojakawimp is around to whine for another year along with the rest of the Queens.

And no, we're not nervous. Actually, I was hoping that we'd get the Kings in the first round to weed them out early on.

Yea, but most championship contending teams don't have the money KG would recieve from Minnesota.. unless he plays for next to free and joins the 4-peat Lakers.. as a PF. That would just own..

You laker fans are all the same. It's always the same old cliches. Please start to say something original and constructive. We've got that one guy over there who goes freakin insane and did nothing but verbally abuse. Then another guy who says kings only choke and that there is no rivalry. First off, I don't even see what the point is of saying there is no rivalry. Are you trying to show that the kings aren't a good team? I don't get it...it's just a word...and yet you all get so defensive about it. If you watched tv, you would realize that everyone in the media considers it one of the great rivalries as of late...and we all know who the media is biased toward...so where are you getting all these crazy notions? And the kings are not a clutch team? Chris Webber is soft? Webber hit 6 game winning shots during the regular season. Yes, the playoffs are different than the regular season, and we'll see what happens during these playoffs (Webber hasn't even had the chance to come up big so far against the jazz seeing as how kings are toying with them), but just remember that kings had the best record of close game victories as well as most blowout victories during the regular season. And did you not watch the playoffs last year? You said that the kings showed that they cannot beat the lakers? Please show me some evidence, seeing as how the Kings took the lakers to overtime of game 7...which only happened because the kings hurt themselves by missing freethrows. No evidence whatsoever.

And now we have this other guy who simply changes my name around and makes fun of me. It's all the same. Try to be constructive and at least add something a little useful to this debate. Otherwise it's just a big waste of not only my, but everyone elses, time.
