States of Concern
Saudi Arabia
Pakistan
France
Indonesia
Germany
Algeria
Afghanistan

Failed States/Outlaw Regimes
Cuba
Iran
North Korea
Venezuela
Somalia
Belarus
Zimbabwe
Congo
Nepal

States of Enlightenment
Russia
India
Iraq
Sudan
Libya
Uganda

This list is a work in progress. Let me know if any other countries should be added.

BTW, no disrespect to Germans. That is one of the greatest countries in Europe. But, in my opinion, the Germans have been hood-winked and used by the French as a financial source and "ally" whenever the situation is called for. In effect, Germany has become France's bitch, doing whatever her masters in Paris order. Until changes come about, they will remain on the top list.

that's a bad list, just for the fact that you have "Iraq" as a state of "enlightenment", let alone have germany & france in the 'concern' list

concerned about what? enlightened about what? outlawed because of what?

iraq is still a wild card, and should definately be in the 'concerned' list, if not 'outlawed'; the situation is far from over yet

that is a glaring case of bad placement on your list, which essentially invalidates your other choices

Before calling Germany "France's bitch" maybe you should look at the percentages of German population which support German policy? As far as I can tell, Germany is it's citizen's bitch- which is something a democratic nation should be proud of. Not like United Kingdom where a majority opposed Tony Blair's assinine actions.

Did you just call Russia an "enlightened" state, or are my eyes lying to me?

I think Red Dawn's list is the most accurate one yet.

"enlightened"
"bullied"
"scared"
"invaded"
or otherwise pressured, sure!

The list you see before you is the product of careful analysis in world affairs. The "concerned" listing are those of states that are either in limbo on where true threats are eminating from or are unsure of what lies ahead for them. In many ways than one, these nations are undecided.

The failed state/outlaw regimes listing consists of atavistic nations of failed ideologies. These countries utlilze their state agents and enterprises for either desperate measures or fruitless and (sometimes) counter-productive political brinkmanship. They are usually bankrupt in more ways than one. Some of these states are absolutely isolated within their respective neighborhoods, hated by almost all of their neighbors. Belarus and Somalia are primary examples.

States of Enlightenment are nations that have learned the harsh lessons of the new reality and come aboard. For them, success means staying the course, adhering to the principals of which enlightenment brought about, and joining the family of nations.

States of Enlightenment>States of Concern>Failed States/Outlaw Regimes

Dari, when was the last time you were in Russia? I am honestly baffled as to why you'd put them there. I can understand you giving into your hatred and putting France and Germany in "states of concern", but wtf is up with Russia?

Also, where would you put China?

I am really having difficulty associating your reasoning above with your list;
States of Enlightenment
Russia
India
Iraq
Sudan
Libya
Uganda

These are supposed to be 'enlightened' members of the 'family of nations'?

And I am also curious as to where you would put the USA on your list.

USA = "State of Concern", automatically demoted to "Failed States" on the off-chance that Bush is re-elected.

Well, I haven't been to Russia but I was personally invited by the President of Russia when he was in New York couple of years ago. I hope to see him at next week's World Leadership Forum, if I can get close. I put Russia in the "enlightenment" list because islamic terrorism is a mutual problem. The Russians understand this and they're working with us and our friends and allies in central asia to deal with the problem. Furthermore, they understand the pain associated with such enemies and are on the right track.

As for China, it does not belong on that list. The Chinese haven't had major issues as of late. Furthermore, though mildly paranoid, their leadership is in firm position to take the country into a glorious future. We are not to worry about them because their objectives are rational, they are an active member of the family of nations, and we have mutual interests.

I have nothing personal against the countries in the "concern" listing. The problem with our two european "allies" is that they've grown up in a post-world war II environment of collegiate comraderie (by building the European Union) while we subsidized their defence. Neither country has tasted terror yet. So they think we can deal with terror-states and terror agents with talks and understandings. The reality is very different as the states in the "enlightenment" listing can tell you. Perhaps if the Algerian terrorists had successfully flown that Boeing 747 into the Eiffel Towers in 1994 (or was it 1995), they would understand better.
Germany and France think they are on the moral high ground by resisting the fight against outlaw regimes and rogue states. Well, these states are the paymasters of the terror nexus that has successfully established itself within the past 25 years. They are literally undecided in this war. I think they need a wake-up call.

If you look at it from a terrorism point of view only, then Russia may be enlightened. But if you're looking at the country as a whole....take my word that it is anything but.

this seems to be a category full of abstracts and jargon.
ie: it seems to mean very little in any sort of tangible sense. could you explain more?
