Hi all, my name is Tim & i live in Cambridge Springs PA(that's in the NW corner of the state). I'm 38 & still single.

For the past 7 years i've worked as a machinist in a tool & die shop, mostly operating a surface grinder. We make spare parts for plastic injection & die cast molds.

In my free time & when the weather cooperates i enjoy deep sky stargazing with my dobsonian mounted 8" & 16" Newtonian reflecting telescopes.

When the weather isn't cooperating, which is alot of the time around here, i do alot of websurfing, some gaming & music related things(still trying to learn to play that synth).

2 computers for now, both running SETI, though i've been an SoB...er, crunched SoB a little, along with ECC2.

Oh... drive a black '95 Dodge Ram!

  • My name is Josh. I'm a 16 year old high school student (no relation to name) who is not working now but is going to start a job in a few days.
  • I am not married (duh).
  • I have not graduated yet, and am not sure where I want to go to college. (It's interesting to see that I'm not the only home schooled kid here)
  • I live in southern Indiana and live with my parents in a house that doesn't have enough room for all the computers I'd like to have.
  • I drive my parents' old 1992 Ford Tempo. They usually drive their 1993 Lincoln Mark VIII (it is a rara avis that I get to drive that).
  • I have 2 PC's at home crunching Folding@Home, ranging from an 800MHz Duron to a 1700+ Athlon XP Tbred-B that isn't overclocked at the moment becuase it's been hot here and I've been working on a critical project so I need the highest stability possible. Will (hopefully) be adding a 500MHz Celeron when I can get around to buying a case and CD-ROM for it from Newegg. I have approximately 1 system(s) running at "work" (a 766MHz Celeron that does powerpoint and sound recording and mp3 playback at church).

My name is Matt and I'm 22 years old and live in Southwest Michigan. I have the greatest girlfriend in the world who's name is Stephanie and we have been together for two and a half years. She doesn't know it yet but we will be getting engaged in the near future (next couple months). I love computers and in my house we have a total of 7 computers thanks to me and my brother, who works for an online computer retailer (3B Tech).

Currently I'm working as a High Speed Internet Technician. I'm employed by Advanced Communications and I'm currently contracted as a cable internet installer for Comcast. I spent a little time at Hope College and Davenport University, where I got my Network+ Certification, but school was't for me.

Lets see...My main project now is Seventeen or Bust but I've put in a lot of time with SETI and dabbled in DF and have also been known to do a little RC5 and D2OL.

I drive a dark green 1994 Pontiac Grand AM that I don't really like but it was cheap.

Also I'm only 5'6" 190lbs. (can you believe they call that obese?) but I'm very muscular so its not like I'm fat or anything. I have been shaving my head for the last 8 years but for 3 years before that all I had was a flattop so that is where my handle Baldy18 came from. It is Baldy18 because after I hit 18 I got sick of changing it every year to keep up with my age so that is where it will stay.

Last I enjoy bowling, college and pro football, college basketball, stock car racing, baseball (Go Cubs!), and I recently tried golf and will try to do more of it in the future.

First of all, thanks for the link Garry, I'm just editing my old post

My name is Brett, and i'm 19 years old. I live in northwestern Illinois, right along the Mississippi River. I'm single again. I'm not going to go into it this time.

The first computer I had was a Commodore (SP?) 64 with one of those fancy tape drives. It was a long time ago and I had no clue what I was doing. The next computer I had, I couldn't tell you what it was. I don't even know what OS was on it, but i'm almost positive it wasn't windows. Third computer was a 66mhz AMD with 8megs of ram and a 550meg HD. Used to work, the hard drive controller card conked out and I tore it apart. Parent's got a Gateway 200 400c, 400mhz Celeron, 64megs of ram, 8gig HD. They still have it.

After that I decided I wanted my old computer, so I got ahold of my sister's old Pentium 133mhz to toy with. Then my buddy got into building computers, and he helped me put together MY first computer, which has now been changed so much it's pointless to bother.

My main rig is a 1600+ XP oc'ed to 18xx something (10.5 x 172). I also have a dually 1900+, 1600+ @ 1543 (soon to be sold), 1600+ @1501, and a 1ghz Tbird, all crunching Seventeen Or Bust and Chessbrain. I also have a 400mhz K6-2 running Lifemapper. I don't think I have any more computers, I lose track.

Other than computers, I absolutely love to hunt. I started out hunting Whitetail Deer and Racoons back in.....1996 I believe. My brother and my cousin got me into it, and i've loved it ever since. It will never be the same for me though, as my cousin ceased his life on 9/8/01. Since then, i've started hunting Rabbit, Pheasant, Quail, Ducks, Geese, and Turkey as well, and every time I go out I remember who got me started.

Just this weekend I bought myself a Martin Magnum Tracer compound bow I just got it set up for me tonight (weight and draw length). I'm hoping to go out and do some target practice tomorrow! Can't wait to go deer hunting with it, it should be fun

I also like Car/Home audio. I enjoy working on my car stereo, although computers has pushed that to the side a bit. Can't afford both at the same time. I really love to listen to music, especially country now, but I never could get into playing it. I had an electric guitar that I took lessons on but it never caught on.

I'm finished at my at a local community college now. I have gotten my AA and AS degrees, and I will be going to Western Illinois University this fall I can't wait!

I guess the last time this topic was around I had just joined up with distributed computing! It's been a lot of fun Great bunch of people here.

I may do some more editing later!

:beer:Cheers to TeAm Anandtech!

Well lets see here...

My name is Anthony, but my friends call me either Bone
or Tony.

I am married, but in the extremely painfully slow process of uninstalling that particular version of Wife 1.0.

I have two kids named Christopher and Renee'. Chris is nearly three years old and Renee is nearly two years old. Currently they are away from me as my wife and I 'swap' them. Right now it's her turn.

I live in Nome in western Alaska. A kinda cool yet lame place at the same time... don't ask why .

My Work for my father at his ISP as a computer technician, or a computer 'repairman' for myself under his business license for $40/hr. I'm about to start a part time secondary job for a totally unrelated reason.

My hobbies include snowmobile racing, ATV riding, camping, fishing/hunting.

For fun I like to jump off the bridges around here or drink with my friends at their house or the bars.

Am currently with girlfriend version 15b. That program has many bugs and I do not think it will ever make it to final release being it lacks two important programs. Cleaning 101 and cooking 2.03. Not to mention the many incompatabilities with all versions of friends.

Now I must admit, the beer is too me so bad that that is by far the stupidist thing I have typed out on this forum. Cheers folks

My name is Chris, I'm 34 and live in Baltimore, Md USA. I've been married for 10 years to either a really amazing woman or a really dumb one for sticking around. For about 18 years I was a practicing drug addict and waste of space (pretty much). Now I'll be 4 years clean come October and just trying to catch up on life. In 3 years I've gone from barely knowing how to spell Computer to building rigs all by myself from scratch.

I'm currently attempting to gain funding for school so I can hopefully land a boring yet well paying IT job, or a somewhat more exciting yet lower paying computer repair job. Of course my true passion would be to go save the Mountain Gorilla, Rain Forest, Whale, Russian Tiger, Asian Elephant, Wetlands, Red Crested Big Breasted 2 Toed Striped Woodshrew... (you get the picture).

I run Folding@Home in an attempt to save the lives of millions of people who could then help trash the planet that much quicker

7 years dry here. It will get better with time.
I am an owner of a small computer repair center in sw PA. Just outside of Cranberrry TWP PA.
I have a wonderfull wife of 7 years. (shes the reason I quit and the reason I was able to do what it is I do today)
When we meet I was a bow/bay window laborer. Now I make 95+ per billable hour. I also provide web hosting for some of my clients. I'm right now looking to get involved with some of the larger home builders in the area for prewirring there homes for networks. You would be really surprised at the number of million dollor homes that you cant plug a PC in and get internet access. And with the size of them wireless is not an option... Went a little off there.
I have 3 fruits 13, 5,and 2.
