Well guys and gals....time for another Meet your TeAmmates thread....just tell as much as you wish about yourself....we'll all listen (and comment )....

My name is Robert. I'm a 34 year old Electrical Engineer (hence name ) working as a Controls and Automation (CkG loves guys like me! ) in the Automotive Industry.

I am married (12 years now) to a wonderful woman (Teresa) and have two beautiful (if not spoiled) daughters...Katelyn (9) and Kara (3).

I graduated from the Unversity of Kentucky with a BSEE in 1993.

I live in Lexington, Ky and own a nice two story home on the South side of town (all the Honey-Do jobs go here <----)

I drive a Dodge Intrepid (2003) and the wife drives a Dodge Durango (2003)....

I have 12 PC's at home crunching SETI...ranging from a PIII 550 to Dual XP1800's to an XP2000. Will be adding an XP2400 and an XP1900 over the next few days. I have approximately 10 systems running at work (Home averages 80 WU's per day and Work averages around 40 or so per day)

I'll add more as I think about it.....

Your turn next!!!!

Talk about digging up a bag of bones! :Q

That thread is almost a year old...hehe!

You can cut and paste your previous information if you like but please change your age and all your dates by one year...assuming they're still valid!

LOL @ confused.....would you like some "Cheese" to go with that "Whine!"? :Q

Engineer, maybe i needed to add a to my previous post! Some of the OT people would actually do it seriously, with a thread that's 1-2 years old

I'm Andy, 42, from Bangor, County Down, Northern Ireland.
Married to Elaine, 2 children, Josh 8 and Caitlin (Caitie) 5.
Working as a Detail Fitter for Bombardier Aerospace (Shorts) in their Newtownards site. Don't like it, it's boring as hell but it pays the mortgage for the house we've just bought and it's one of the better paying jobs over here.
No formal qualifications but I've just started an ECDL (European Computer Driving Licence .
) course with LearnDirect.
Drive a 2002 Citroen Saxo.
Two PC's, one running TSC and D²OL, the other runs whatever I feel like at the moment.
Will that do ?

I am Titan miller and I live on a farm in Iowa. I am 16 years old and entering the 11th grade this fall. I enjoy working with computers and currently have 3 (Athlon 1.2, 2500+, 1.2ghz celeron notebook) computers all running seti. After high school I am plannning on joining the United States Air Force with hopes of becoming a pilot (I know its not easy/requirements). I plan on taking advantage of the educational benifits of military life and getting a degree in some form of computer science. I am planning on staying in the military for 20 years until I get a 1/2 salary pention, then trying to get a job working for a major. Then I guess I'll sit around and die.

My name is Bob.

I am a network administrator in Lexington, KY. I probably don't live too far away from Engineer, but we have managed to avoid meeting...

I have a degree in Business and a few certifications and haven't really decided what I want to do when I grow up.

I am married (11 years) with a son (10) and a daughter (2). I drive a 2000 Impala and the wife drives a 2003 Dodge Caravan.

Engineer and I have much more in common than I realized before reading this thread.

I run a bunch of computers at work, and a few at home.

Hoping to graduate from college in 3 years and work in the Bar Trade/Licesnsed Premises Managment and ultimately own a chain of clubs and bars, and who knows maybe even prove that drinking copious amounts of alcohol is a cure for cancer
Also hoping to spend 6 months in the USA when im a little older and see if i can find out what all the fuss is about

I'm Nate and I'm 33. I live in Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA, and I work in software as a Producer/Associate Producer, which is like being a project manager without the programming skillz. I live alone in a creepy old house on the edge of town and keep a shotgun loaded with rock salt to chase off young'uns who go trying to steal apples from my back yard.

Okay, the last part was made up. I do live alone, though.

I'm Dennis, live in Westerville, Ohio, and recently realized to my horror that I've become that tragic cliche, white, middle-aged, overweight, balding, and unemployed. :Q I started out 20 years ago as a mainframe COBOL computer programmer, have worked with PC, S36, AS/400, Client/Server, and Mainframe development projects. The last 4 years have worked as software (Powerbuilder/Oracle) project manager and IT manager, up until November when my position was eliminated due to downsizing. Now you think with all that experience, I could find a job. But so far no go.

Married for 21 years, son 19, attending DeVry to get his CIS degree, a daughter 15 who spends way too much time on the PC (like her dad), although she mostly talks to friends and surfs, she isn't into computers except as a tool. We have a dog and two parakeets. The wife drives a 1998 Buick Regal, and I drive a red & rust 1989 Chevy S-10 pickup that the body is rusting off of, but it's paid for and still runs great.

We have 7 PCs, all older stuff, but most are turned off for now to save electricity. I'm in the middle of upgrading my daughter's Cely466 to a Duron 650@850.

And if anyone's still awake by now, thanks for listening.

Thanks confused for the link!

From last years post, changes on the bottom

Hi my name is Tom; my nick name is my initials and the state I lived in. TAR CA. I'm 37 and I live North of Atlanta with my wonderful wife of 14 years and a 11 year old Son who knows way to much about computers. His first machine at 9 was a PII 233. My first computer was a C64 that I purchased for myself in High School. Right away I enjoyed programming. In college I studied computers and programming, learned Pascal and Ada. I met my wife and that was the end of school. It was time to live. I grew up just south of San Francisco and moved to Atlanta 7 years ago for my wife?s job.
I?ve worked many jobs nothing to do with computers till a few years ago. I took the long route to get to my goal in High School to work with computers. I am now a systems engineer and have my CCNA. Now they pay me to play with these things!

I have been running Seti for almost year and before TA and Seti my hobbies were and sometime still are. Assistant Scout Master for my Son?s Boy Scout Troop, Gaming (PC and XBOX), Gardening when the weather is nice, Watching Star Trek and every Sunday that it is on I watch NASCAR racing!

Oh I drive a POS Mazda Protégé provided by work but my weekend warrior is a 97 GMC Sierra Z71 extra cab. Stellar midnight blue of course.

I don't post here as much as I use to but I still log in and read the posts 2-3 times a day!

Nickname = Same

Well I'm from Versailles, Kentucky but I'm now living in El Paso Texas. I got here via the Army. I decided to stay here after
getting out because of the mountains, the food and the weather. If it snows it has the common decency to melt by 10am.
Summer ends somtime in December quickly followed by 2 weeks of winter as summer begins on or about 2 Jan. thereafter.
I spent 13 years in the Army fixing radars, teaching electronics and working in R&D at WSMR, NM. I have 2 sons and a
granddaughter back there in Versailles,Ky. In fact all of my family is there except me.
I have more computers then one person needs but they keep me busy. They are XP2700,XP2400,XP2000,AMD1.4, P4 2.4B
and I'm thinking of upgrading the AMD1.4 to a XP2700. Other than that I do a little camping and fishing with the dog
and some political stuff to keep me busy.

Updating my info from that last thread:

I'm Jerry, 36 years old and live about an hour west of Engineer (and IJump) in the GOOD part of Kentucky!!

No longer unemployed. Got a decent job with a great company and I now live only 1 mile from work (going to get a bike so I won't need to waste starting the car for a 2 min. drive)

I'm crunching SETI on several PCs at home (PIII-1.0M laptop, two dual XP1800+, an Athlon 850, an Athlon 950, a PIII-500 and my work PIII-1.0M laptop) and two I've assimilated in the family (dad's PIII-550 and my ex's dad's new P4 2.6). I'm now quickly approaching 20,000WUs and was going to jump all of my rigs to F@H or DF once I did but w/my avg. now over 40WU/day, I might just stick around until the 25k certificate and then switch. We should pass HwF by then, too!

And, I drive a 1996 Chrysler Sebring JX convertible with 141k miles (rebuilt engine, rebuilt transmission, and in need of one or more of the following: EGR Valve, O2 sensor, Throttle-position sensor...thing runs rather rough unless you lightly use the accelerator stupid cars!)

Oh yeah...one more thing...I'm back in the single world again. Man...dating = teh sux0rz! But, my youngest keeps telling me, whenever I pick her up from the day care at the Y, that her teacher is 'too young for you dad!'.

Hi all...patrick here from Kemah TX (half-way between Houston and Galveston)...native Texan married 20 years now to a pretty lady from Ohio who taught me that there's more to life than what I was convinced I knew...we have kids: mine (1), hers (2), and ours (1)..."grandkids" is on the Christmas list (to go with the one we have) (and lately in (), "we
don't care if your married or not", ha!)...lesse, we have Toby the Dog, standard issue of 2 cats (not to mention the stray ones that come for dinner), fish, bird, did I say we do animals?

hooked on computers for long time now (technically, 1971! - I know what a punched card is/was)...got sidetracked into biz administration and property management - tired of both, would rather play with computers and get paid for it...very soon to be unemployed and beginning to stressfully wonder if there's life after 50?

Used to dable in genealogy so I tend to start wimperin' when I see references to Madison Co KY, Wood Co OH, Buchanan Co Mo, and Lavaca Co Tx (to name a few)(just created a 14 million entry file of Texas 1966-2000 marriage/divorces if anyone needs a lookup) - it's been entirely to long since I took the scenic route north and remembered how flat this part of the country is...

Surrounded by my share of computers...even a few of them are mine...all running SOB hoping to help close the gap...(you know you have a good kid when she's walking thru the room and notices the SOB has stalled and fires it back up for you without saying a word)...actually trying hard to slowly wean myself off of this distributed computing thing...ok, ok, real slowly...

Anywho, people joke and moan about me driving my old ugly pickup truck but I got some of the sweetest running computers in town!

Might as well join the festivities.

I am Jon, originally from the state of Wyoming, but currently residing in Ames, Iowa. I am working on my MS in Occupational Safety and Health, primarily focusing on Ergonomics and Human Factors. I am married...wife is in pursuit of PhD in Sociology. I currently work for the University I attend, teaching Construction Safety and Legal Aspects of OSHA.

My fleet of computers includes my current system discussed in other threads, as well as a dual PIII system I am trying to sell. I also have an IBM Thinkpad 600E running FreeBSD that is giving me some network configuration headaches.

My name is Rich, and although originally born in Memphis, TN I've lived nearly all of my life in Michigan, currently residing near Grand Rapids.

I'm 34 and still working for the Kent District Library as a Computer/Network technician - been there now for about 8 years.

I'm single and still unsure of whether I really want to have a wife and kids; I figure it's better to be a little wary of the added responsibilities before the fact rather than regretting it afterward.

I'm quite the SETI nut, having crunched 30k(I think I can say that since I'll celebrate that tomorrow!) and bought another 22k(via eBay) for the Team - see the "TA - Romulans" account. While not as active as I've been in the past, I'm still a staunch supporter of Team Anandtech and proudly advertise it whereever I go with my Chevy 4x4 Blazer.

I'm a regular player of CounterStrike and just about any D&D type game(Diablo, Dungeon Siege, etc.) currently working my way through Neverwinter Nights.
