If they put the price higher it wouldn't be worth it. I got my Nexus 4 16GB for $300 recently, it works fine.

It's sold out now apparently, probably because of the Nexus 5 coming up.

I'd have no problem at all paying $400 for a 32GB model, assuming they kept the $300 8GB and $350 16GB pricing model.

Well that's is what makes it a Nexus device, having last year's camera.

Sometimes its worse than last year's camera. My Galaxy S2's camera was far better than the Nexus 4's camera.

Agreed. I'd pay more for fewer compromises. I'm not sure why the Nexus phone has to be some low priced gadget.

I wish this would come out already. I'm putting my AT&T S4 up for sale as soon as I have the Nexus 5 in my hands. I just can't stand TouchWiz and there's not a good way to root and completely replace TouchWiz with just plain 4.3 on the MF3 firmware.

I'd ditch AT&T entirely over that MF3 nonsense. It took me about 5 minutes to flash my T-Mobile S4 with the stock Google Play Edition 4.3 ROM.

This makes sense. The Nexus 5 is actually Nexus 4 (2013 edition): http://www.chiploco.com/nexus-5-is-nexus-4-2013-29489/

Now that we look at Google’s naming scheme for their Nexus 7 tablet the new Nexus 4 (2013) name really makes sense. The tablet initially launched in 2012 was simply called Nexus 7 and now the highly updated version launched this year is called Nexus 7 (2013) so Google might actually be following the same naming scheme which means the next phone is actually Nexus 4 (2013).

I figured they might do that, since the Nexus numbers refer to to the screen size to differentiate them from each other.

The Nexus 4 referred to the fourth generation. If they were going to switch to the same naming scheme as the Nexus 7 and 10, which refers to the screen size, then the next Nexus phone is probably going to coincidentally be called the Nexus 5. Not because it's a 5th generation, which it also is, but because it now has a 5 inch screen.

I saw the G2 in real life, and came away impressed. I do not know why they look so fat and ugly in review pictures? And huge?

They are actually not very big (ever so slightly taller than the N4) and it's perhaps similar thickness to many other phone in that range. And it was definitely lighter than the N4. Overall it's a very compact package, and if the N5 is being based on this device - which is all but confirmed - the N5 will be absolutely a monster in a beautiful packaging.

The difference in how the G2 looks in pictures and in person was shocking. The back is still ugly convex, but the phone is much smaller than what you think by looking at the pictures.

Its the most gorgeous screen I've seen on a phone.

http://www.androidpolice.com/2013/1...-32gb-storage-8mp-ois-camera-photos-and-more/

leaked service manual for nexus 5... looks authentic (or someone had a lot of time on their hands)

specs copied from androidpolice
4.95" 1080p display (IPS TFT for those interested)
32GB internal storage (other capacities not specified)
2GB RAM
MSM8974 aka Snapdragon 800 at 2.3GHz
8MP OIS rear camera, 1.3MP front camera
2300mAh battery
Sensors: Accelerometer, Gyroscope, Compass, Proximity/Ambient Light, Pressure
Slimport compatibility
Micro SIM slot
Notification light
Wireless charging
NFC
Bluetooth 3.0 (We assume this is an error – after all the document is still a "draft version" according to its last page)
UMTS/GSM/CDMA/LTE compatibility

at least there's a 32GB option

Agreed with most of the G2 impressions. Phone looks awesome in person - screen is gorgeous, phone is very nice. Plastic back material is unimpressive and the back buttons are super annoying. LG's overdone touchwiz-esque launcher is kind of annoying too.

I'm very anxiously looking forward to the new nexus phone and will probably order one right away if there's a 32gb option.

Optical Image Stabilization. This is going to be good.

CDMA/LTE capable, please be Verizon compatible. If so, this will be THE phone to get.

The Nexus 4 referred to the fourth generation.

Citation needed.

It makes no sense for Google to market the 4, 7, and 10 as a coherent, unified Nexus family with ads that feature all devices together and then have one of those devices follow a different naming scheme. AFAICT, the 4 referred to the screen size (which is better? to round up to 5 and have people angry with you because it's really 4.7, or to just floor it to 4 and be safe?), and that it was merely coincidence that it corresponded with the generation. Likewise with 5.

Google reset the Nexus branding when they introduced tablets into the mix. With the Nexus S and Galaxy Nexus, they were co-branding with Samsung's own product lines, but with last year's Nexus batch, they reset everything. The N10 isn't the "Galaxy Nexus Tab", the N4 isn't the "Optimus Nexus" or the "Nexus G", and the N7 didn't carry any naming from whatever Asus's brands were, and unless evidence to the contrary is presented, I believe that this reset was to produce a coherent, unified brand and naming scheme of "Nexus Inches".

I am still shocked Nexus 7 FHD is on Verizon too...

not officially...

you can't bring it to the store and get a SIM card for it(though you can put an existing verizon SIM in it, and it'll work). verizon needs to do "tests" on the N7 to ensure compatibility with their network

CDMA definitely isn't going to happen anymore since CDMA is not open source and has to be approved which is one of the reasons why updates always took longer for the Verizon/Sprint versions of the previous Nexus phones so no, it most likely won't be compatible with Sprint/Verizon. At least not with Verizon since they are still the most restrictive carrier.

WCDMA doesn't mean Verizon in this instance, it's a commonly used GSM 3G protocol. Hate to burst your bubble.
