CDMA definitely isn't going to happen anymore since CDMA is not open source and has to be approved which is one of the reasons why updates always took longer for the Verizon/Sprint versions of the previous Nexus phones so no, it most likely won't be compatible with Sprint/Verizon. At least not with Verizon since they are still the most restrictive carrier.
Compatibility is 1 thing. Having the carrier offer the phone subsidized is another thing. They can be mutually exclusive.

Not quite.
It can be compatible without the carrier offering it for sale/subsidy. But if the carrier is offering it for sale/subsidy it will definitely be compatible.

You can have A without B, or A and B, but never B on its own.

I think I will be skipping the Nexus 5 as I travel alot outside of the US and will not be able to fully benefit from the LTE bands... otherwise the processor, screen and space bumps look great but my Nexus 4 is still working great. My main gripe with the Nexus 4 is the battery, doesn't look like the next refresh is solving that.... unless Snapdragon 800 has alot of power optimization.

From the LG g2 (and other snapdragon 800) reviews, looks like 800 does solve some battery issues

Problem would be whether LG provides Google with the proper drivers
That's OKAY!
It sets precedence that Verizon can screw us over even with the open access rules

And fewer manufacturers will think about including 700mhz support for Verizon if they have to jump through more hoops (though the 4g modems are supporting more and more frequencies per chip now)

Pretty much what was expected. A G2 that costs half as much, with a much better UI without the excessive software flourishes that looks and feels hopelessly outdated and is bloated to the point of ridiculousness, useless junk covering 60% of the notification bar, awkward button placements(both hardware and software), and lackluster case materials.
Fixed.

Perhaps, but most of those Snapdragon 600 phones already do great. The reason the N4 does so horribly is partly because of its separate modem attached to the USB bus that causes unnecessary wakelocks.

First, is not mine.
Second, I usually read this forum but I never had anything to say. Today I found that app I wanted to share it with you.

Thats all

I liked the app. Try it. Maybe you found it interesting. If not, have a nice and relaxed day.

Oh come on, no need to not be honest. That app was just created and you just post your first post at about the same time. It's no coincidence.

I don't really have a problem with you wanting to mention your Nexus 5 news app in a post about Nexus 5 news. But no need to be sneaky about it.

In case you don't know how to read, that's why I put (that) in brackets because I knew you'd claim it isn't yours.
We all know it's either yours and/or you either personally know the person that created it, and/or you have some financial interest in it.

I don't mind trying apps from established members here but one thing I'll never do is try an app from a first time completely random poster regardless of how long they claim to have been lurking the forums.

This app has access to these permissions:
Your location
approximate location (network-based)
Network communication
full network access
view network connections
Phone calls
read phone status and identity
Affects Battery
control vibration
Your applications information
run at startup
Why does your(that) app need location data and phone status and identity if all it's doing is spamming Nexus news that aren't original and are already published elsewhere?

I change networks like every 2 years. I've been with pretty much every network (Virtual network) in my country.

It doesn't always pay to stick with just one network.

I have no choice, it's work provided unlimited everything line. Otherwise I would be on T-Mobile or StraightTalk.

I used an app like this to tell me when the Nexus 4 was in stock back on launch...

Take it easy bud

back to topic, anyone else excited about OIS on this camera module?

LG's last couple 8MP sensors have been stinkers IMO. (Nexus 4 and Optimus G).

Wish they were using the 13MP from the G2, they finally got a camera comparable to Samsung

I've cooled off on getting this as an upgrade to my N4. I really wanted it for the LTE but since i flashed the LTE/hybrid radio for TMOBILE, i'm not looking to upgrade. TMO LTE is a nice upgrade from their HSPA+

I'm still excited about replacing my Nexus 4 with a Nexus 5.

First, I really don't like the glass back on the Nexus 4. It looks nice, feels nice, I'd much rather have a soft touch matte back that isn't as prone to scratching or at least would hide them better.

Second, 16GB isn't good enough. I need more storage. Was worried I might have to buy a GS4 or Note 3. But apparently there will be a 32GB Nexus 5.

And I looked at the LTE mod for the Nexus 4, but looks like a hassle and I don't really want to wipe my phone (apparently required by the mod) unless it's for a new phone.

Does lte have the same data hanging/loss of signal despite reporting an active connection issues hspa+ seems to have? Debating upgrading but I don't feel like spending hundreds on dollars if i'm still going to run into the same connectivity problems. Dunno if its carrier related, phone/modem related, or technology type related problem at this point but I don't like it.

What is the data hanging/loss of signal reports you heard of? I was not aware there were such issues on HSPA+. I thought most signal issues were related to hardware/software or networks' coverages. In that regard LTE is no different. As long as the hardware is able and the coverage is there, it seems to work fine. The quality issue is still there, varying wildly depending on coverage, congestion, or perhaps inadequate infrastructure (e.g. carrier A's LTE is faster/more stable than carrier B's in area X during Y hours).

In my opinion Google did a good job with the screen/bezel sizes. With the Moto X, they maintained the N4's screen size and reduced the bezels to near nothing, improving ergonomics. With the Nexus 5, they maintained the N4's physical size while increasing the screen size (again reducing the bezels to near nothing) for improved visual fidelity.

I think what he's referring to is explained here. I can say that I notice this on HSPA too if the connection is idle. It takes more than a few seconds as I can see the arrows start blinking and the indicator goes from 3G to H to H+ before data even starts flowing through.

Having LTE gives more of an instant response.
