I'm talking about the buttons having backlight bleed. The bleed on the GS3 looks just horrendous. From a distance you just get a giant white blob from the menu button lighting up. The same with the LED. It was just a blob of light on the white GS3. The black one was more controlled, but that's the issue with white phones. On the GS4 white, they toned the backlight down a bit more and confined the area so it's not just a giant blob... same with the notification LED.

Oh, ok. I get what you mean. I know someone how had the white version of my phone (Galaxy SII Skyrocket) and it had the same issue. My mistake on what you were talking about.

I am still sticking to the 11/14 rumor. Does anyone know the exact date Google revealed the Nexus 4?

The 14th as an announcement date or a release date? Either way they better get the invitations out soon.

Here is the complete list of specs on the page of LG Nexus 5 registration page of Wind Mobile, which was subsequently taken down by Wind Mobile.

I'm pretty sure those size specs are wrong. They don't match with the FCC document or the actual measurements.

Based on these images it appears the Nexus 5 is much closer to the 131.9 x 68.2 from the FCC document than the 137.84 x 69.17 showed on that other specs list.

Why is the FCC document the confirmation of the external dimensions?

I have a case from Spigen and it's longer than the N4, so it's most likely 137 mm. Furthermore, your images don't show the actual length of the phone.

Look at a better FCC image. Draw lines. It's something like 183mm - 47mm which gives you 136mm. Even if that isn't perfect, you can tell it isn't just 131 mm.

Also multiple user calculations:

http://ss.reddit.com/r/Android/comments/1ny1zu/i_calculated_the_exact_size_of_the_nexus_5_based/

show that the N5 is larger than the N4, not the other way around.

Finally, screen protectors for comparison:

Edit: Sorry imgur (and every cloud file sharing site) is blocked at work so I had to use my phone as a medium.

The picture you posted looks like a prototype and not the final device. Notice that notch at the top of the phone? I really hope your numbers are wrong. Even 131.9 x 68.2 is already too big and will make it hard enough to use one handed. I already can't keep it in my front pocket so I guess that part doesn't matter. Yes, it would fit but not comfortably.

That's from the FCC filing. So if it's a prototype and my eyeing of 137mm is wrong, then likely 131 mm is wrong too.

I highly doubt Spigen would be running thousands of shots on their molds with incorrect data. They're also not the only ones selling cases already. I highly believe in the 137mm measurement, and it makes sense that the device is larger than the N4.

The difference in going from 4.7" to 4.96" is a 0.25" increase in the long axis which is 6.35 mm..

The total height of the N4 = 133.9 mm
Screen height = 101.6 mm
Vertical Bezel = 32.3 mm

Assuming the device is the same size, the bezel shrinks to 25.95mm, and assuming its 131mm, it shrinks another 2mm to 23mm. That's a bezel 33% smaller. If you look at the N5 and N4 renders, no way. There's still a lot of bezel remaining. At 137 mm, the device has about 29 mm of bezel, which sounds about right.

Exactly. People are picking fights over numbers they don't even know if accurate.

Just get the device out so we can all buy it!

At 137mm tall that would be 27mm of bezel(the screen of the Nexus 5 is 109.73mm x 61.72mm). That is over an inch of bezel which is a lot. From the pictures it looks like the Nexus 5 should have a smaller top and bottom bezel than the Nexus 4 but I guess not by much.

If your numbers are right I will sadly have to skip the Nexus 5. Really disappointing. Those numbers you gave would put the Nexus 5 at about the same size as the LG G2 which has a 1/4" bigger screen and is too big to comfortably use with one hand.

These numbers are important. I am very likely to not buy it at all because of the size. If I can't comfortably use the device with one had I don't want it. My current phone is 129.8 x 68.8 and it's already a struggle. I really want to get back to a Nexus phone so this is a huge disappointment.

Pocketability is another issue. I already have to buy carpenter pants because putting my current phone in my front pocket SUCKS. That part I've learned to live with.

Height doesn't matter. Actually the N5 will be a tiny bit narrower than the S4, which is impressive.

If there is a Verizon version, then I'll start going to church again.

Please God, let this happen.

What do you mean height doesn't matter? It has a serious impact on one handed usage and comfortable pocketability.

I wouldn't call the width impressive. The bezel on the left and right are still 60% larger than the LG G2.

No there won't be, and it's all Verizon's fault. Look at how long the updates were for the Verizon Galaxy Nexus. Verizon will never allow unapproved updates through its network. Once Verizon eventually goes full LTE with voice and everything then probably but that's years down the line.

I'm not looking forward to VoLTE at all. Not until battery technology has a huge advancement. I wouldn't get a VoLTE based phone unless it has a 5,000mAh+ battery.

Yeah if the n5 really is as big as it looks now, I may instead opt to get the LG G2 instead.

It looks like the N5 will have an 8 megapixel camera with OIS and 1.1um pixels. Meanwhile the G2 has a 13mp camera with OIS and 1.1um pixels.

So, bigger screen, (probably) better camera, bigger battery but skinned LG O.S. (and slow updates ) or a slightly smaller screen, probably worse camera, smaller battery but pure android and fantastic, instant updates.... Decisions!

Since every day for the past two weeks has been a possible release day, I plan to not hold my breath in anticipation this time.

This

After all the times it's been rumored to get announced, I'm not holding my breath anymore.
