when i picked up my ps3 on friday, i asked the guy at ebgames whats the deal with wii stock? He said they were only getting 34 on launch which are sold out and getting more in 2 days later lol.

i just called 5 of the 16 stores on my list and every one is sold out...these were the stores with the bigger number available. wonder if i should call the rest or just give up?


called 5 more stores, all sold out. screw this. guess I won't be getting one today.
The on EB Games store I called told me they should have more on Friday, but I'm not going anywhere on Black Friday (if I even get off that day, which is unlikely).


at least this will give me time to hear what everyone who got one thinks about and really decide if I want one.

I woke up at 9 so I went to Target and Best Buy to check, not expecting anything. Both were sold out (well, Target had 6 left with 6 people in line waiting to pay for them). But what surprised me was that they were both almost sold out of games and controllers too. It seems most people aren't buying them for eBay. I'll wait patiently for mine to come from Amazon.com. As long as I get it before Thanksgiving, I'll be happy.

Got the Target that had 210 Wii's was 158 in line. Crazy stuff.

Got Call of Duty 3, Trauma Center, Zelda, Red Steel, and Marvel Ultimate Alliance

Tuesday restocks, nice. Of course it would be great to know if most all stores will be getting restocks and roughly about how many they'll be getting.

Things are definitely looking good for Nintendo so far.

Got my Wii from Costco this morning.

No camping, no waiting.

Went there, they had 24 available, picked mine up and left.

$339 for Wii + Zelda + Excite Truck and extra remote.

Wii sports was great. Tennis and bowling are definitely the standouts. Boxing didnt work as well as it should. My gf should be over later, so itll be fun to play it multi...gotta run out and find component cables now.

Havent tried zelda or rayman yet...mad a mii though.

You guys can just use 3 composite cables for component video. I can't really notice a difference between doing that and using real component cables.

Got a Wii and Zelda from Target!

I got home an hour ago after waiting in line for 3 hours, arrived around 5 am and got in line. We were a lot more organized, as someone brought a whiteboard and marker for us to write our name and number in line. There were 69 Wii's allocated, I was # 36, and one of the Target employees gave out cards with a number and store number on the bottom (I guess this was the format other Target's did), they had a buy 3 games get a $20 gift card deal, but I just wanted Zelda for now. Right now I'm just staring at the Nintendo Wii box in awe.

I camped out for a Wii, even though it wasn't nearly necessary I got Zelda and Red Steel, but have yet to try out any games. Time to go to sleep..it was hard to sleep in the cold...

Been playing with mine for a few hours. Havent cranked up Zelda yet, but Have been playing Wii sports.

I am truly impressed with this, its pretty nice. Learning curve is minimal!


Although I am probally going to throw my arm out of socket slinging this lightweight controller like a real bat LOl. I even found myself standing up and moving around boxing, without even thinking about it.....

Amazon started selling Wii's at about 8am PST. They must have sold out within minutes... I hit back to order a second one for my friend who was out standing in line at K-mart, and even though the order went through, it's scheduled for delivery on January 19th. I hope that's truly just an estimated time, because that would mean that Amazon isn't expecting stock for another 2 months.

I managed to get one for myself along with 3 remotes and 3 nunchucks. I also ordered Red Steel last night. I'll have everything just in time for Thanksgiving.

Got my Wii.
Showed up at Target at 6:45.
At 7a they came out and handed out line tickets. The tickets were good until noon.
Came back at 8:30a to pick it up.

This thing so far exceeds my expectations.
I got online, and it started to run an update.
Servers must be slammed because it has taken 20 minutes and it's not done.

Anyone else run the update?

so does it come with component video out standard? Does it support progressive scan on gamecube games? Does it use standard component video out cables, and if not is the proprietary one the same cable as the gamecube used? That would be sweet since the original gamecube component cable is discontinued.

It uses a proprietary component cable that is NOT included. I preorded mine from Nintendo.com. Got it on Friday.
Does progressive scan on both Wii and Gamecube games.

How in the world are you going to do that? Its a proprietary cable. Noone has them in stock.

WOOT! Got the last one. Waited in like for like 1hour 15 minutes. I thought the store (Toys R US) opened at 8 (went at 745). It actually opened at 9. Good thing I went so early.
