Sounds good, thanks! I'm not in any rush, but since it's $250 and not $600, it's a more...manageable purchase, lol. What accessories do I need? I don't really understand the deal with the controllers. Does it come with one piece and you have to buy a second piece, then additional sets of which ones you want?

It's really like $400 since they rape you on accessories.

System + extra remote + extra numchuk + component cable + Zelda.

250+40+20+30+50 = $390 plus tax.

I think we are going to take back the extra remote/nunchuk for now. We can always find them on sale in the near future for a whole lot less than $60.

Okay so it does come stock with one remote and one numchuk?

Since I am not reading this entire thread, I wanted to see who has played Red Steel yet.

For those of you that have it, what do you think of it? Can you get used to the controls? It seems a little complicated at first. Also, is it me or is it just really damn dark in the game? There isn't a brightness setting, so I had to adjust my widescreen for a brighter display.

Comments? BTW, Zelda is slow - but I've only played about an hour. I'm still in the village. Very cool game play though.

Yes, the Wii comes with a wiimote and a nunchuck.

Yes, it pretty much sold out everywhere. Some places (I think Best Buy) have nearly confirmed getting a few more as early as middle next week.

The phone number listed above for component cables typically states that the component cables are sold out and will not be available for another week or so. Best bet are third party cables (I'm not going to worry about "unofficial" quality, since it's only 480p). Those should probably be available as early as Tuesday from companies like MadCatz.

I didn't buy Red Steel, but my neighbor's kid did. He said he'd give it to me if I wanted, because he apparently hates it to the nth degree.

Seems like there are a few sources via google when you search for wii component cables. The cheapest is $15.

I'm thinking that it sell out very fast, since everyone's been excited about the Wii and all the games for it.

I'd love that too, but how will it handle when you lock swords with someone? There's nothing on the controller to keep you from swinging rather than having your lightsaber locked against someone else's...

i must say. i'm pretty disappointed with the graphics of Zelda. It looks very muddy and blurry. I'm hoping that the component cables make a nice difference once they arrive.

has anyone gotten excite truck? i kind of want it I just can't justify spending $50 on it.

Yeah, but he was comparing it to the PS3 so you have to make it a fair comparison:

System + extra controller + HDMI cable + game
600+50+50+60 = $760 + tax

So far I have had a lot of fun with my Wii. Zelda is great. I am just a little dissapointed in the lack of configuration you can do with the wiimote. I have to place the sensor bar in the middle of the room, and then sit on the floor to get it to read it correctly. Its not very ideal. I dont really know what I expected, because I knew it would somewhat of a challenge hooking it up to the projector and getting it to read right, and not actually having cords run everywhere.

I need S-Video out. Are those out of stock cords the only ones that have this?

i read someone else mention the sensor bar. i'm planning on using mine at my desk with my 20" widescreen lcd monitor and i really don't have much room. not sure how that will work..

it can go on the bottom of the TV.

there's going to be at least a 2-3" gap between the bottom or top of the monitor and the sensor bar for me. will that cause a problem?

The sensor bar is super small, and what I remember from the brief glance at the manual, requires you stand a few feet away. I don't know if you have that kind of room. I find that standing about 8ft away works the best.

not good to hear...

a few feet away is the middle of my bed...
i guess i could use the 19" crt TV i have, that would let me be a few feet away and then i could even set the bar on top of the TV but still, its an old, crappy tv and only supports composite (rca). now that i think about it, i don't even think it does that because i had to use an rf modulator for smething else.

maybe i really need to re-think this...

A 2-3 foot gap is a pretty big problem..the pointer will be nowhere near where you're actually pointing, especially on a small TV.

LOL, ok I need to wake up. Thats fine, but you still need some distance....at least 3 feet, 5 is a bit better.

It's Nintendo and LucasArts. Someone will think something up.

Spent a little time playing Sports yesterday....my shoulder hurts from swinging "the bat". Will open up Zelda tonight most likely, and Madden when one of my buddies comes over (I got extra controller set).

Boxing is
