or lithium

there supopsedly will be a chargeable 3rd party add on. basically a battery pack with external contacts

but yeah, I bought a pack of cheap AA's from somewhere... how well are NiMH's lasting for folks? Not sure if it's worth it to buy a set or not... $30 for charger and a small set of batteries... I could have... 64 AA's....

I just spent the last two hours making the cast from the office as Mii's. Took forever, the only one I'm dissapointed about is Angela.

Awesome! My girlfriend gave me my Wii (christmas present) early since she's out of town this weekend. Now if I can just tear myself away from it to go to work...

I was playing Wii sports on my brothers Wii the other night and my shoulders are still sore.. never thought I was that much out of shape

What sports does everyone prefer? I really disliked baseball and golf.
I didn't try tennis, but I though boxing(once you get the hang of it) and bowling were the most fun.

I'm waiting for trauma center to show up in the mail so we can play some of that.

I wish boxing were more responsive. It seems as though it has trouble detecting motions (well, punching.. leaning it detects great). I really love bowling.. and then tennis. There are some issues with tennis in terms of control... mainly because I play tennis and would like to see wii virtua tennis or something

With boxing you just have to learn how it sees punches then you can be throwing them quicker and with a better response. Goto the training part of it and load up the boxing the bag dont worry about the timer just focus on punching and learning the response of the controller. It's what I did(and now I'm a pro in boxing)

comment from that site: I wonder if these upgraded straps will be able to withstand the stress that's put on them.

what stress????? there's not reason for any stress to be put on the strap. people need to stop being retards.

I agree. I actually never even use the strap. The strap on my Wiimote is still wrapped up. I can understand someone accidently dropping the Wiimote, but how hard to you have to be swinging it for it slip out of your grasp and then still have enough momentum to break the strap? LOL. Though, in all fairness, I can pretty easily picture young kids getting carried away. But their parents need to step in and tell them to take it easy.

Anyway, it was an amazingly fast response by Nintendo. Hard to believe that just two weeks after the initial reports of broken straps that new Wiimotes and systems in stores now already have the new strap. That's impressive.

I forgot about that... but I feel like it would be cheating against folks I just show it to I always forget about the whole training aspect of this game for some reason.. hah

as for the strap... in zelda it's not necessary. in wii sports... i can see slipage happening. There were a few times my hands got sweaty and it seemed possible. You just get into tennis rallies... heh.

but I still don't see how I could break the strap AND have it go flying into a TV... unless I was right in front of it. I bit the bullet and tried to see how the remote would do if I let go (into the couch). It just kind of whipped back at me.. heh.

I just tried calling those places and they say they don't know anything about a Sunday shipment. Is this normal? Do they just want to keep it a secret or something?

Exactly. the kids in my family get a little carried away with it but I've never had it slip out of my hands. the ones that are breaking it are guys that are playing drunk or putting way too much force into it and have a poor grip when a flick of the wrist is all that is necessary.

Good luck with trying to get one on Sunday. The reason that the big retailers are sitting on the stock until Monday, at least as I understand it, is that they put the Wii in the weekly circular. Of course, they don't mention that by the time they open, they are already sold out. This was the case last Sunday. I got to the local Target at 7:30am and discovered that there had been people waiting for hours already. The store only received 24 of them so they just handed out vouchers to the first 24 people in line and everyone else was out of luck. I checked out a bunch of other retailers in the area and they did the same. So, you can either camp out a few hours before they open (think 4:00am) or just wait until after the holiday season to end, which is what I'm going to, reluctantly, do.

In stock now at EBGames $695! Nice bundle price... 7 games + remote + 1gb card + Wii.

http://www.ebgames.com/product.asp?product_id=B020070E

Ok well not actually in stock but they are atleast taking orders!!

Anyone willing to lay down $700 should definitely go for it! Although I'm just wanting COD3, Madden 07, and Red Steel and don't really need any other games right now.

I didn't like Red Steel that much... Zelda is THE game to buy right now for the Wii; great gameplay, great graphics, and great use of the Wiimote.
