After calling around several places it seems as if there aren't going to be any Wiis released tomorrow - every store/chain near me seems to be hopping on the Best Buy plan to release on the 17th if they truly didn't acquire any new shipments in since last Sunday (Best Buy, at least all the ones remotely near me, haven't had any Wiis available since the Sunday after Thanksgiving, and I fail to believe they haven't/won't be getting any until before the 17th, nearly 3 full weeks).

stores are selling on the 17th. very easy to get one come jan 3rd. tell your kids you arent a magic worker and that they can be excited to get it as soon as possible.

I noticed that, I'm suprised I haven't seen it mentioned anywhere else though.

I guess once we get less Miis, we'll just turn off WiiConnect. That's what does it :\

You can manually disable WiiConnect24 by holding the power button on the console until the red light comes on.

And I did a little power consumption test with my Kill A Watt meter. When playing a Wii game, 17W are consumed. When playing a GC game, 13W. On WiiConnect24 standby, 9W and with WiiConnect24 off, only 1W.

it keeps the wireless card on 24/7. I would presume that is sufficient enough. I've noticed it myself too.. I will probably turn it off.

What type of environment are you storing the wii? I have it vertical on the stand on a hard surface and it's only slightly warm and it's been off for 24 hours.

I got the big key and everything I just can't figure out how to get to the Boss's Chamber. The huge Fan won't activate and the baloon that's in the previous room I can't latch onto

The fan and vent are on the bottom, so if you aren't using the stand, you're blocking the vent.

I beat the pecker pretty easily.
Getting to the bosses are a bigger pain in the ass.

Just wear your iron boots and claw his tail.
he'll drop and lose some armor.. do that twice.

then after that you start climbing and start grapping either left or right depending on his flame, get behind him while the pecker is breating fire and stab like there is no tomorrow.

I think you do this 3 or 4 times. before he dies.

I'm really trying to get a Wii for the kids but it's very unlikely I'll stand in line. They kept saying there would be plenty before Christmas...oh well. Now to explain why Santa can't just make them one.
