Dec. 18, 2006 - Later today Nintendo will add three new classic games to the popular Wii? video game system's Wii Shop Channel. The three new titles will be added at 9 a.m. Pacific time. Nintendo will add new games to the channel every Monday. Wii owners with a high-speed Internet connection can redeem Wii Points to download the games. Wii Points can be purchased in the Wii Shop Channel or at retail outlets. This week's new games are:

Tennis (NES®, 1-2 players, 500 Wii Points): Players slam a serve, fire a blazing backhand and smash a forehand volley on their way to winning the victory cup. Players can choose between five different levels of difficulty, ranging from Beginner all the way up to Advanced. If players want to become true champs, they should be ready to show off their most brilliant lobs and most powerful smashes. Play a singles match or grab a partner for doubles, and then choose an opponent. Players control the moves in tennis action so intense, they'll almost believe they're at center court.

Space Harrier II? (Sega Genesis, 1 player, 800 Wii Points): Fantasyland has been taken over by destructive forces, and a call for help comes from deep in the universe. Space Harrier is quick on the scene, armed with his laser, to defeat wave after wave of destructive forces through 12 thrilling stages, with a dangerous boss waiting at the end of each round.

Military Madness? (TurboGrafx16, 1-2 players, 600 Wii Points): Military Madness is a futuristic simulation game that throws the player into the middle of a war on the moon's surface. The rules are simple, making it easy for newcomers to enjoy the thrills of this war-strategy game. Players can see easy-to-understand, detailed instructions from the Title screen. Military Madness is also turn-based, allowing players to devise their strategy before they move. To top it off, the units players have for each stage are already decided, allowing them to concentrate on commanding. Use the terrain and surround enemies to claim victory. Fight through all 16 stages and thwart the enemy's ambitions!

Anyone else having controller issues? Mine shuts off if I give too much movement. Too much being just barely enough to hike the ball in Madden. About 1 second after that, the controller turns off and then turns back on. I've taken it apart but haven't seen anything wrong. I also tried giving the batteries better contacts, along with strapping them in, with no luck.

From what I have read, it's somewhat common.

Depends on the game... As far as Wii Sports goes, boxing, tennis and baseball can be played sitting down easily, whereas bowling and golf are almost impossible. Most of the other titles are played sitting down, with an exception of maybe some minigames in Rayman.

I play bowling all the time sitting down.

i just sit in my office chair. and do it on the side. though it did take a game or two to get my timeing down.

Ahhh ok... I was think more sitting in the middle of a couch, which would be much harder than in an office chair.

I will have to check out the weather channel when I go home.

I hate Amazon
But I do have a Wiimote and Zelda now. The only place I saw Wiimotes was at Pamida, and they didn't have any nunchucks, which I thought was kinda odd.

its not really kiddy, but it is hilarious. the stuff the rabbids do and say and the sounds they make are funny as hell.

the game is a little lacking though as its just a bunch of mini-games, even though they said it would be more than that.

Have to update, but it was really quick and didn't require a restart. Opera Trial on Friday too! Cool!

Rechargable batteries / charging station for 2 Wiimotes. I'm in for one of these when they come out. It plugs into one of the USB ports on the Wii for juice. So cool!

hrm... $40 for two remote chargers... or dump the money into say 12 AA's nimh and a charger.....

I'd be inclined to do the joytech thing if you can buy the battery units alone separately. Unfortunately, I have no real benefit for getting nimh AA's... we have nothing that would utilize them
