Yes it would be extremely wise to have a nunchuk with each controller.

This plan was thwarted. The wife is hooked. I returned it last night and today she said we're buying it.
hahaha...my gf is totally hooked on it too. And if you think that's bad, don't buy Elebits if you ever want to play your Wii again. That game is CRAZY ADDICTIVE. My gf won't stop to let me play. Too bad the multiplayer kind of sucks.

I thought elebits was incredibly boring. I returned it to gamefly a day after I got it.

Does anyone know what the classic controller is designed to hook onto? There are two slots on the back and a release button on the top middle of the controller... definitely to hook on to something.

Also, a note in case this happens to anyone else:

The other day my son was bowling and whacked the controller on the coffee table pretty hard. The gyroscope stopped working. Everything else was fine, you could hit all the buttons and use the pointer on the screen, it just didn't sense the motions it needed to play most games. I was pretty sure it was broken and I was just going to try to find a new one... but I realized in SMB that it would tilt one direction sometimes (whether the controller was tilted or not) so I figured maybe the gyroscope was stuck. I gave it a good whack, and viola!!! It works again

Man, I don't know how, it's so simple yet so entertaining. It's like a whole game based around HL2's gravity gun.

Rented Madden 07 and Monkey Ball through gamefly with their 21day free trial. Played both and didn't find them any fun...

i read online (searched for a review) that the classic controller plugs into the wiimote. i guess it plugs into the wiimote like the way the knunchck plugs into the wiimote.

Yes it would be extremely wise to have a nunchuk with each controller.

Assuming you're going to get 4 Wiimotes I think having 4 nunchuk's is overkill except for some rare occasions. 2 is adequate IMHO.

so playing a 4 player game with 4 people that requires 4 nunchuks when you only have 2 is going to work?

or better yet... anyone who wants to play your wii is required to bring their own wiimote/knunchuck.

Update on my wireless issue (using DD-WRT on a Buffalo router) -

1. Switched wireless to "Mixed Mode" (B and G clients allowed)
2. Disabled "Filter IDENT (port 113)" under Security Settings

Fixed my problems, my Wii is happily updating now

This is something else. There are clips under the controller itself. It has release switches for whatever it will attach to.

haha, I went out gamestop and asked the guy if Gamecube controllers would work with my Wii...and he said I needed an adaptor and I laughed at him. (I previously checked to see how they hooked up). So I bought 2 gamecube controllers because I have Mario Party 7 and Mario Kart Double Dash on the way .

I purchased 8 rechargable batteries from BestBuy picked this up instore

They came with 2500mAh batteries and I bought another set of 4 for 10$. It took 18-20 hours initially to charge, but so far they are amazing.

I have this charger which is a much better charger than 99% of consumer-grade battery chargers. It comes with some batteries, which I've found to be quite good.

I have an assortment of batteries:
8 Panasonics (bought at Costco before they switched to Duracell)
8 Sanyo 2700 mAh (Sanyo is the best brand for NiMh cells, but they're expensive and IMHO not worth the money for most purposes. I bought them because my wife is a photographer, and waiting for the flash to recycle can mean a missed shot).
16 BatteryStation 2300 mAh (from batterystation.com). These are very good batteries, and a great deal at $1.50 apiece.
4 Lacrosse Technologies 2400 mAh - came with my charger, very good as well. I'm considering getting some more, because when you figure in shipping they're cheaper than the Batterystation cells (I have Amazon Prime)

How often is that going to happen and is it worth the extra $40? After paying $120 for 3 extra Wiimotes, $20 for an additional nunchuk, $40 for two Classics I'm up to $180 in just controllers. In those rare ocassions when I have 4 people who want to play a game w the nunchuk they're just gonna have to wait.

i don't know. to the guy asking the question, it might happen a lot. he said he has kids, so thats at least 2 kids. then he has himself and probably his wife if they play. then figure the kids bringing over friends. i could see it happening often for him.

for you, its not worth it but to him it might be.

Anyone been able to pick up a Wii in-store lately?

I've been digging around for one since the beginning of December to no avail. Seems like I'm going to have to wait another month or so until they're common enough to just walk in and pick one up.
