OK, I figured out what Target DeathBUA was talking about. There are 5-6 people there now and they have 60 Wiis. They start giving tickets out at 7am and begin selling at 8am.

Think I'll be fine if I get there at 7am?

Well on Tuesday when I went into a gamestop here in Maryland and asked about the Wii they said that they all are spoken for at that one, but since I know the dude he let me in on a little secret.

He told me that the EBGames in Montgomery Mall in MD is a place I can go to get a Wii if I don't have a reservation anywhere. He wasn't supposed to tell me this, I dunno why, but he did anyways.

Today I call the EB there in Montgomery mall and they tell me they will have some for those people if you didn't reserve one.

Another friend called me today and told me about it, and found out they are going to have 400 units in stock for those who didnt preorder!

So yah, I think I know where I will be headed in the morning

With the number of Wiis available, it looks like it may very well be possible to get there at 7AM. There is also far less people looking to buy it for profit.

But judging from the buzz from here and other places, there are a LOT more people that want to buy it to play it. At any rate, you are still taking a chance by showing up at 7AM.

If you really, really, really want it first day, I'd go earlier. It depends on how many units are available in your area though.

Someone else said in the thread that their target is getting 33, and theyre all spoken for. Mine is getting over 100. It's really hit or miss.

So there you have it... You won't just be able to walk in and buy one when a store opens unless you are in a line prior to it.

Same old PS3 crap it appears.. not enough product for demand...

This is lawrence, KS btw, a college town with tons of people who would play ps3 and wii.

The Target in Woburn, Ma is getting is getting 160. I doubt that the line will 160 deep.

target here is getting 33.. and the line is 20 long already

which target is this? I am planning on driving around at midnight to see whatteh lines are like. i was i Nashua, NH earlier at Circuit City and the line was 1 person deep.....No other place had a line.

The best buy near me that just opened Friday got 104 Wiis. The other one wouldn't answer their phone.

Hi! I read a lot here but do not typically post as you can see.

I did not see this posted anywhere but it should help those who want a Wii at launch. I manage a Gamestop which as most of you know took pre-orders for their Wii launch. All Gamestops got enough to fill their pre-orders, but some stores are getting extras.

At Westfield Malls throughout the U.S. Nintendo is doing little launch parties at a number of Gamestops and EB's. Each one of these stores are getting around a hundred extra Wii's above their pre-orders for their midnight launches. Those are the only stores in my area which are doing Midnight launches.

Just thought some of you should see if your local gamestop or Eb is doing this event. Good luck with it! Not have to deal with crazy mom crowds at Target.

I'm planning on heading over to the nearby Super Walmart to get one at midnight. What time do you think I should get there? I wonder if I need to arrive real early or if I could get away with showing up at 11:30 and still walk out with one.

Its just so weird to see someone with such a low post count... I'm trying my Future Shop(Canadian BB) which opens at 8 and if I cant get it there Im going to EB Games which opens at 10. If I do get it at Future Shop tho, I can get a DS at EB

I'm heading to the GameStop to pick up my Wii and Zelda at midnight.

I have another one that has shipped from Wal-Mart. Not sure if I am going to try to sell it yet. It was a bundle with a bunch of games. We'll see.

I was at the Super Wal-Mart right across from the Katy Mills Mall, in Katy,TX, and around 3-4 pm there were a good 20 people crunched up waiting behind the shoe aisle, presumably waiting for the Nintendo Wii to launch. I think the employees wanted to keep the Wii squatters in an area where they won't disrupt their business. I'd consider getting in line, but I think I'd go insane sitting in a wal-mart for 8 hours next to people that resemble characters from King of the Hill.

Try calling local stores, or maybe going to them.... And have a few back-up stores ready in case the main store doesn't have it, but if you do this you need to make sure that they have different opening times Like if Best Buy opens at 8, and Gamestop is having a midnite launch, then hit the midnite(if you get it dont go to the next) and if you do get it go home or post here or do whatever you want to do.

Yeah, from what I'm hearing a places like super Wal-Mart have 150+ ready to sell, so I think I'll be ok if I don't show up hours before midnight.

Okay I can confirm that the 2 locations in MD are NOT doing any kind of midnight launch, so I am guessing this whole list is bogus.

A jackstrap maybe, but DEFINATELY NOT an armpit. And an only-used-once-jockstrap at that.

Anyway, so the mall is going to be open after midnight? I wonder how they worked that out.
