I was sitting in a meeting today and my arm was hurting. I couldn't figure out wtf was going on.

...then, I realized I had been playing Wii Sports and Zelda all day yesterday.

Yeah it is pretty sad. i've gotten progressively more sore over the course of the day. I was going to workout tonight, but i'm not sure I will be able to. I suck.

Oh and good luck telling someone why you are sore... My co-workers got a good laugh out of my reason.

Sony didn't produce enough Ps3s for it's launch date, people were well aware of this.
So, after seeing someone get shot, fights breaking out and that dude with the face in the pole, Ebay auctions $2500+ for a Ps3 all over the news, people thought they could get into the action with the Nintendo Wii.

So now once again Ebay is flooded with over priced video game systems,.....

Agh,..... I feel like Eric Freakin' Cartman. lol I just want my Nintendo Wii dammit!


Eh,.... seems like every store will be getting more in on Black Friday.
Too bad I have to work,......

Maybe I'll just go pick up Gears of War and Guitar Hero II to keep me busy,....

I know how you feel. I hope all these scalplers see their sales plummet like crazy. The Wii's are already dropping to 350-375 on ebay now and the PS3 is down to like 1200. I hope some idiots end up having to return their system to the store because no one will buy it. There should have been plenty of Wii's to go around for ACTUAL gamers interested in playing the system.

I dunno why you would have thought that...the actual system was far more anticipated than the ps3. Hell, even the very first people on line was a whole family that was buying ONE system - the kids insisted on getting one, and the parents came along for the fun.

I also dunno why you blame sony - the two systems were coming out 2 days apart. From what I've heard, most people were on those lines buying to sell it, and this was premeditated for a long time. I doubt very few people just got the idea right after the PS3 came out.

The VAST majority of people on my 100+ line were buying it to play it. It was a pretty good time overall - everyone there was just excited to finally get to play it, and was amazingly civilized.

Systems are going to be piling in soon. You may still need to get on line ahead a bit ahead of time when a known shipment is coming in, but if you REALLY want one, you'll get one.

Weekly, from what I've heard. Pretty sure they will send an annoucement to your message board whenever they release new ones.

It's pretty weak right now, but I kinda think its on purpose - they are having hundreds of thousands of people trying to connect and download updates. They only have so much bandwidth, and it's slow enough as it is right now. The games will come soon.

According to Kotaku.com, the TurboGRAFX games didn't make it out at launch. Two (Bonk and Bomberman) are supposed to be coming soon with more released through the holdiays.

Don't get me wrong, I agree with you, but there's no way to stop it. Nintendo can't be faulted for having a popular product, and ebay can't be faulted for doing what it's always done, and while it's pretty irritating to the people who'd like to just wake up and get one, the scalpers aren't breaking any laws.

You can blame the scalpers all you want, but the main reason you don't have one right now is that you didn't want one badly enough to wake up early and get one. Nintendo sold though almost 700k units - and theres about 20k on ebay you say? Thats only 2.8%. Thats nothing.

Agreed. If anything it worked out great. People with the need for the system got up in time for it. There's a pressure release valve that's called eBay for others that need it.

If they outlawed personal resales at higher prices I think that would cause more issues. Under the table/corruption type happeneings.

It really wasn't that hard if you really were a gamer and you really wanted a wii. I showed up at Costco at 3AM the night before. I was the only one there until 5AM. And we were the only ones there until 630. There was enough there for everyone until 8AM. Even after that, only 5-6 people turned away after the line filled up.
The neighboring Toys R Us only had 4 people there at midnight. I went there for a few minutes at 3AM. I was number 13 out of 32. That's when the guy opening up Costco for the bakers walked over during his break. That's when I strolled over.

Seriously, I am not feeling sorry for anyone that wanted this and does not have it.
A lot of retailers are getting their second shipment tomorrow. 4 million will be shipped by the end of the year.
