I feel (like many) that holding Wii's for Black Friday is unnessesary:
- Wii will sell regardless.
- People will come to buy things on Black Friday regardless of if they have Wiis.

My above opinion though is why I'm not a CEO... I imagine CEOs are thinking:
- People are more likely to stop in our stores if there's a greater chance of finding a Wii (free word of mouth publicity). While they are in our store they might as well buy other gifts instead of making another stop.
- People will be more inclinded to purchase a large number of Wii games and accessories in the frenzy that is Black Friday. People don't over analize purchases as much on Black Friday. "I'd better get it while I still can, and return it later if not needed" mentality of Black Friday. So if selling a Wii today (wed) they also get a sale of Zelda ... maybe selling a Wii Friday will net a sale of Zelda, Excite Truck, and 2 extra wiimotes.
- And my guess as to the biggest reason ... More Wii stuff will be sold boosting our overall Black Friday numbers.

There's also the other possiblity ... not as fun ... but Black Friday could actually the first day they will be recieveing a new shipment. (Oh the horror of actually taking 5 full days to restock a popular product.) <- sarcasm

i planned on calling around but i heard that places are saying they don't have any even if they do. i don't really feel like driving all night only to come home empty handed.

Slim... but I'd say the chances of finding one the Saturday following Black Friday are virtually zero unless some of the stores get a shipment in on that Saturday.

Hmmm... I was at our local Gamestop yesterday hoping to find some 3rd party component cables and they had a pretty good supply of both wiimotes and nunchuks. Not sure if I just happned to go in shortly after they stocked them or what.

target said none until end of december or beginning of next year.
wal-mart didn't know

i have an extra $500 now that i can put towards a wii so i guess i'll just take a loss on some money and get one off ebay.

Check craigslist first. Save your self shipping time, plus maybe you can haggle a little bit.

i live in a small rural town. craigslist sucks for me, even if i were to check the harrisburg ones. i just checked anyway, not a single wii for sale on craigslist harrisburg

But at least you are paying for items at their retail price rather than paying $100+ extra just for a Wii. Besides, you can always return/sell games and accessories you don't want.

I just received my package from Nintendo and it only had the remote. Component cable is on backorder. :|

I guess my Wii will stay unplugged.

I had to jump through hoops to get the component cables for the Gamecube from Nintendo. It's deja vu all over again.

Just got back from my local EB games. They got some accessories in today.

Picked up 2 remotes and the last nunchuck. I should have looked for cables...

Now my 5 yr old can beat me at tennis.
