saw knack in person, looked like an xbox 360 or ps2.5 game. Didn't have all the awesome effects of DX11 or even DX10! hell lookedl ike crash bandicoot for the N64!!!
Strange to see an official teardown like that. Nicely designed, although its too bad you have to open it up to replace the hard drive. Sort of sends a mixed message. On one hand he mentions the screw covers saying they want to discourage users from opening it, and they'll know if you do. Then mentions the hard drive can be replaced with any standard hard drive.
Supposedly the shiny part on the back of the system opens up to expose the HDD tray.
In the video he has the cover off, and unscrewing in a top down fashion, implying it cannot be slid out. I hope its like it was in the PS3, but it doesnt look like it. I suppose the tray isnt actually removable from the outside, but the drive can be slide out of the tray.
Watch it again. When he shows you the HDD removal the whole system is assembled. Nothing is taken apart. He slides off the back part of the cover and then removes the retaining screw to slide the HDD tray out.
Watch it from 2:00
Here's an image of what I mean. The shiny part of the cover is held by a torx screw.
hmmm...it took that as he removed the cover, power supply, blu ray and blower to expose the hard drive cover. I guess he must have flipped the unit over, and it wasnt in the video. He does specifically refer to it as a hard drive cover. The power supply seemed to take up the whole rear third of the box, so this location is in the front underneath the blower and blu ray drive?
It's the side. The PS4 has a matte and a glossy cover. The Glossy cover will expose the HDD tray via a torx screw. When looking at it from the front, the HDD is on the left side of the console.
In person with better lighting it's apparent that part of the system has a glossy look.
This is the front. The left side of the system is where the HDD is located.

it's unfortunate because that was the primary launch game i was looking forward too. saw it myself at gamestop and it truly looks like a ps3 game.
I'd prefer the ps4 to be all matte. Like the ps3 slim. Think it'd look nicer and retain fewer fingerprints and scratches.
Psh, it's free, doesn't really matter.
All this talk about Knack and its all about "looks". Graphics whores. I swear some of you would praise a interactive turd if it was in 4k with 16 GB textures and all the latest rendering buzzwords.
How is the actual...you know...GAME?!
Pretty sure its a game and not a graphics demo...
It's your basic platformer. Nothing really to it.
It could be the worst game in the world, that's not my point. Just tired of "graphics graphics graphics". People are shallow.
Does anyone know why HBOGo hasn't made it to playstation 3 or 4? Is it some bs xbox exclusive? This is the only reason that I will be hanging on to my 360 for a while.

oh so not only are we not allowed to like games you don't like, but we aren't allowed to criticize graphics anymore either?
sorry i wasn't following the latest exdeath rule, my bad.
