if you just go look at the general consensus they get average to poor ratings for the most part, with the exception of part 2. there is nothing polarizing about the series at all.

I'm pretty sure they already announced all blu-ray playback features won't be working at launch. I'm pretty sure it was even discussed in this thread.
Major Nelson, vaguely confirmed 3D and 4K output on the Xbox One, but his company has recently told CNET that the machine will be shipped without 3D Blu-ray playback capability. Having said that, there's still a chance of adding this feature via an update later on.
On the other hand, Sony has just confirmed to us that the PS4 will definitely come with both 3D Blu-ray playback (requires the 1.50 firmware update and then a one-time activation) and 3D gameplay (albeit a current lack of 3D titles). And while there's no 4K output for games just yet, the Japanese giant is considering adding support for 4K still images and video to the console
Lets see, first one bad just like I said (70 meta higher than I thought it woul dbe). Second one good just like I said (91 meta), and third was ok (84 meta). Then you have a PSP one that isn't even an FPS but an over head shooter and a VITA FPS, both portable versions are offshoots.

You then provide evidence showing it isn't mediocre, sorry having 1 game score bad and the other 2 score good (and 2 off spins for handhelds don't even come in to play when judging series) isn't evidence of being extremely mediocre. While the meta scores don't show it being so polarizing as I thought it would, it definitely is with player opinion as shown between the two of us.
But anyways, I'm done talking about it with you. You are an extremely annoying individual on these forums that plays the durr and passive aggressive cards way to much for my tastes and I've tried to ignore it for sometime.

Sony really seems to be doing whatever it can not to piss people off. Exception is DLNA, but I bet that will be added, since they have admitted they are considering it--and it didn't take a media storm to get that out of them, either. There really seems to me a large cultural gap between how MS is going about the XB1 and how Sony is with the PS4; the latter jumping through hoops to keep people happy.

depending which ps3 you have, some can't do 3d with HD audio. my phat can't which is why i got a standalone player.
I have the fat 80gb that has PS1 compatibility. I couldn't care less about HD audio though, I have bad hearing as it is. I don't think I could tell the difference.

I disagree. My biggest problem with 3D is the fact that most people just use it to create depth (3D in the "positive space"), and those effects are practically non-existent to me. Personally, I prefer 3D in the negative space (in front of the screen), but of course, I think cheesy uses of it or excessive uses of it are just bad. For example, I saw a few minutes of Journey to the Center of the Earth (the Brendan Frasier movie) once, and it was very easy to tell what was going to have a 3D effect in the negative space.
Some of my favorite uses of it have been in movies such as Pacific Rim, but oddly enough... not in the majority of the movie. In the beginning, the fish in the ocean are swimming around right in front of the screen. An even better example involving fish has to be the IMAX Under the Sea video. You haven't lived if you haven't seen the cod fish! I showed that part to my friend the other day, and it practically blew his mind. (A little exaggeration, but he seemed to enjoy it.)
Goodness, this is just a bit of a he-said, she-said mess at this point! I'll try it out on Friday after I get home from work (boss said it will be a long night ) and get the PS4 updated.
Yep, and it feels rather lazily done. What bugs me about it is that some actions actually take me out of the app and into Safari to handle everything. What's really strange is that the app has a rather long load time... probably somewhere around 10 seconds on my rather speedy iPhone 5S, which is longer than most games.
You use it on your projector? I have a projector but it wasn't marked as "3D" (Optoma HD20). Not sure that even matters.
I'm not buying anything specific to watch 3D, but if I happen to have it, I might rent one or two.
yeah i use it on my projector, and with my sound system HD audio is a must. i only have a handful of 3d movies, and i personally think the animated flicks look the best, but it is just a neat experience imo. like the 3d in wwz didn't really add much, but it was still neat. jurassic park 3d is freaking sweet though for a "live action" movie. probably my favorite one, aside from avatar (which is a lot of cgi though).

Xbox's face is Major Nelson, but I suspect he's more hamstrung by what he can say and do because of his paymasters.Pretty much why I can't get an Xbox One yet. Tired of Microsoft's stuck up "fvck what gamers want" and "here's Halo 11, you'll give us your money anyway" attitude.
Microsoft and Activision should just merge and implode, they share the same self destructive goals of unsustainable business growth at all costs.
Sony isn't an angel in the past but at least is showing humility and willingness to change.
