I'm also hearing Titanfall = Call of Duty with jet packs and Ryse = Call of Duty with swords.

Titanfall is being made by ex-Infinity Ward people.

I could agree with that. It's definitely not a $60 purchase for me.

I think it could have been if they changed a few things around. It kind of reminds me of the problem with a lot of Hollywood movies these days. I wanted to say it's like a "poor imitation of Ratchet and Clank", but I still think that's doing a disservice to the venerable series.

Well, you get resogun and contrast free with PSN+ anyway. Resogun looks fantastic, but if you don't like arcade shooters...

IGN gave Resogun a 9 stating the only negative being some easy bosses. Although, in Super Stardust HD, I would argue that the levels were harder than the bosses, but in Super Stardust Delta (the Vita game), I would say that the bosses were actually a lot harder than the PS3 variant. I think part of that is due to the smaller screen though. It can sometimes be hard to see small shots on the Vita's screen.

Oh, and Contrast got a 7.5.

oh nice, i didn't know they were free with psn+. the psn+ isn't redeemable until friday anyways so tomorrow night i may crack open knack, or see how much gamestop will give me for knack. if i could get like $50 for it (doubtful) i'd pay $10 for killzone. i might just buy killzone since i got $50 in store credit at gamestop for the TE2 stick that i'm 99.9% not getting from gamestop anyways.

i don't know, that is just what people are saying about the cards that come with it, that you can't redeem them until the 15th.

Maybe the codes are locked on those particular cards on the server side. Ah well, if you play any games before friday let us know what you think. I'd be interested to hear from someone who isn't a dedicated game reviewer trying to generate hits on the website.

Just one more day of work and I'll be able to sleep in a bit Friday and pick up the console to spend all day with it pretty much. I could go to the midnight release but I don't feel like getting there at 9 and waiting in line for 3 hours, especially in the cold.

Here are the facts: In the past week, my Kotaku colleagues and I have used one pre-release PS4 and three retail PS4s with no problems. I've also heard from fellow gaming reporters who've used their PS4s with no problems. But the first retail unit that Sony provided me failed to work when I plugged it into a TV in Kotaku's office. A colleague and I were able to compare it to a second PS4 that did work and we found that the issue was rather simple: the bad unit had a faulty HDMI jack that we couldn't fully plug an HDMI cable into. It couldn't make a solid connection and therefore, apparently, couldn't transmit a stable signal to our TV. We tried different cables and monitors. The issue was with the console.

If the HDMI port is finicky or barely working to begin with, one bad move of the cable could break it. I have some stiff Monoprice cables that ruined a port on my projector. I'm going to use the limpest, lightest cable I can find.

The neogaf guy which apparently got bricked somehow. Kotaku's, another guy who won one from taco hell, and the other two also on reddit, presumably from the taco bell contest too.

I was looking up warranty, it's $49 bucks from Sony for an extra 2 years. Or $59 for accidental coverage included. I think you get one screw up though.

I use RedMere-based HDMI cables (e.g. 10-foot cable). The are very light-weight as they're about as thick as your usual smartphone cable. They are a little more expensive than your average HDMI cable, but I've gotten most of them on sale for a good price. The product that I linked above is a pretty decent price as of writing ($10), and even better if you have one of Newegg's random video cable coupons (I only have one for DisplayPort at the moment).

From what I read on reddit and ps3trophies website, looks like Sony is handling it as fast as they can. One guy had his overnight delivered back to Sony. They will send him a new one overnight as well, free shipping both ways. Some others may have a 2-3 day turn around or more. Guess it depends on how nice the CS staff is feeling at the time, if anyone has any issues with it.

That's true and you have to think about say there are 4000 taco bell winners, looks like 3 of them had issues, some didn't get their system delivered yet. Many others probably haven't had any issues or they did not report anything.

Best of luck to all of us I guess, hehe. As long as Sony is courteous everything should be fine. I've had Sony products crap out on me before and support was very accommodating.
