BF4 is installing as we speak. So far I'm really impressed with the DS4, the dashboard, the ease of setting up PSN. The only jackassery I've seen so far is EA's Origin BS.

One minor complaint is at one point it told me an update was downloading for BF4, but I couldn't find an Active Downloads section (that's Live speak for you non-XB'ers). Eventually it let me start the game. The campaign is 100% installed and the MP is 43%.

Downloads appear in your notifications. Go to the top menu with the psn store icon. There is a notification icon that you can click and bring up to show active downloads and received messages.

Oddly enough contrast is like 2GB but it downloaded and installed in like 10minutes for me. Pretty fast.

Yeah Knack reviewed much more poorly than I expected. Not that I expected anything amazing, just a decent platformer that would show off the tech. Guess I will be waiting for a while. Killzone and Resogun it is for now. Maybe pick up AC4 just to have something else to play on my new system.

Yeah! MS has never done anything or made any games that don't cater to frat boys! Because, otherwise, I'd have to acknowledge I have a rather stupid outlook on everything! Lost Odyssey wasn't made by Microsoft Studios! Nor was Blue Dragon, Mass Effect, Age of Empires expansions, Forza, Orc's Must Die, anything by Lionhead in the past 10 years. Nope, nothing but "dudebro games".

Taking away cross platform releases that leaves...a whopping three items. Meanwhile XBO is all about the TV integration so you can watch UFC and NFL on 15 channels while you...play UFC or NFL games.

Microsoft is TOTALLY putting all their eggs in that audience, no need to deny it or be defensive about it.

I just need to score a second one for BikeJunkie Jr. for the holidays. Worst case, I'll box mine back up and give it to him. I'm not worried though. Demand for these isn't what it was for the PS2 or the Xbox 360 and supply is definitely greater.

What does being cross platform have anything to do with anything? Everything I listed is either developed, published, or a subsidiary of Microsoft Studios. I know, facts hurt your stance.

It's okay, I'm sure your SNES will keep you warm at night and safe from the "dudebros" at MS.

I would guess they are hosted on the PSN server, but that is a good question.

Finally! You don't have to wait 20 minutes for a downloaded game to install on the hard drive. That was my biggest complaint about the PS3.

Cause if psn is slow then downloads of game updates are also going to be slow.

My friend got his at 8am and his game update took like a minute to download on wireless. I'm on wireless now and it took 40 minutes.

Psn was down from midnight to 3am eastern

I am CST and had no problem with anything all night. I patched my PS4 after 1 AM CST with no issues. I went to sleep at around 3:30 CST and everything was downloading. It was downloading slowly, but I never saw it stop.

Wow, Knack has a 59 on Metacritic. It must be pretty bad. Killzone is at a 74.

i actually had more fun with knack last night than i did with killzone.

so 3 people just in the cheapassgamer thread about taco bell wins have received broken systems. there is another person in the launch thread there who also has a doa item. i have a feeling we're going to hear about more of these as the day goes on.

This is a massive electronics launch. There are going to be blips. The percentage of failures will be key.

Walmart by me took money for pre-order but sold the systems first come first serve to anyone. Some people who paid money down got shafted. So yeah...screw wally world.

I would be calling their District Manager and Wal Mart corporation complaining nonstop until I got one.

Well I just played a match of BF4.

- Had to use Quick Match (or whatever it's called). The server browser showed NO ONE online at all. But I got into a game of Rush pretty quickly using QM.

- Everything was buttery smooth and it looked gorgeous. No lag, no framerate issues.

- Got my ass kicked going 7/13. I like the DS4 a lot but it's going to be an adjustment. I keep wanting to use the dpad for movement.

So would you say knack is worth buying? The reviews were not nice but the way you seem to enjoy its simplicity speaks to me differently than the reviews. Should I buy it or should I wait for a price drop?

is it worth $60? i don't know about that. i'm pretty sure there will be plenty of people offloading it shortly. the environments do feel very static for the most part and the graphics are nothing to get excited about, but it is a very simplistic platformer that definitely has challenge to it. i do agree with reviewers that they control how "big" knack can get. like there are some levels where if you find relics and you have full life, it will expand your health bar and make you bigger. then there are levels where you max out the health at a certain size. i don't understand that, but its probably because they want it to be played a certain way.
