This reason is always funny to me. I have zero problem playing FPS games on PC or console and I'm proficient on either. It's not like you are at a disadvantage on console since everyone else is using controllers.

At first, like the first 10 or so hours of gameplay, are a bit of a transition. I grew up playing both, and it wasn't really until the Xbox that people starting their "omg mouse is so much better. my fat fingers aren't dexterous enough to use thumbsticks so they suck!" mentality really came about.

I actually watched a good video on youtube kind of explaining the mentality of fanboys though. It made a lot of sense why people think like that. It can be summed up as such: if you are attacking something I like and spent my money on, calling it stupid and bad, you're implying someone has to be stupid to buy it; thus, you're effectively calling me stupid. It makes sense for me to see that as an attack on my character, and to retaliate.

long USB cords are really cheap

I have like 3 or 4 outlets for micro-usb cables for all my various devices so I'm sure I won't have an issue keeping the DS4 charged. Not worth spending the $30 or whatever for a charging station IMO.

$30 but now I can have it sitting there all the time and just drop my controllers on and walk away. I don't need cables anywhere either. The Sony charging station charges through the bottom of the controller next to the port for the headset.

The PS4 has active cooling so if it's under duress, it'll be loud. In general, I'm sure it's pretty damn quiet, I wouldn't be concerned unless you plan on shoving it into an enclosed space with no air flow.

all i know is that the PS3 one wont work and that there are currently no codes to get the PS4 to work with a Harmony or whatever

i really hope they make a remote. i have some BRs that are impossiable to navigate with teh controller

Dammit, I totally forgot about this piece of Sony stupidity - no IR port. That puts a serious crimp in my plan to replace my Blu-ray player with a PS4 next year. Well, maybe Harmony will make a PS4 adapter like they did with the PS3.

The PS4 has active cooling so if it's under duress, it'll be loud. In general, I'm sure it's pretty damn quiet, I wouldn't be concerned unless you plan on shoving it into an enclosed space with no air flow.

My TV console is pretty much like that. Enclosed space with little to no air flow. Maybe I'll open up more holes on the back end of it. Already have a couple for cables and such.

I played killzone for an hour and it never got 1/4 that loud. I find it hard to believe this video is legit and unedited but I dont know the source either.

Sold my PS4 this afternoon for $550. I initially listed on Craigslist at $700 this morning, brought it down quickly to $600 when everybody else was at $550-$600 (a couple dozen of postings). Eventually got my first text this afternoon, settled on $550 cash. Not as much as I was hoping but pretty good for 20 minutes of my time.

My guess is that's the optical drive spun up as its trying to install. Not good though, that sounds like the 360 drive. It was so obnoxiously loud.

Kinda curious how allotments went, your area either got a bunch of systems or seemingly everyone decided to flip them driving prices down as I've seen people claiming they sold multiple ones for $800+ but its hard to say.

Well that's good to know.

I don't think that video is faked though. Other users are reporting that their PS4 is also loud. A couple of gaming sites have picked up the story as well but then again it's all based on a very small size sample (for now).

Either way this won't prevent me to get a PS4. I was just being curious after watching that video

Flipping consoles is probably long gone with the exception of limited edition models. Its another one of those things that once everyone heard about it, everyone is trying to do it now, so you have millions of them on eBay trying to undercut each other. Maybe a few bucks but certainly not how it was in the past.

Its like collecting new stuff hoping it will be rare down the road, except it wont because everyone knows how expensive SNES and NES are now, and millions hoarding sealed games so they don't miss out "next time" is not a recipe for them to become rare and valuable. Self defeating prophecy.

Its not about that. Its about pressing, holding, and waiting to turn at an arbitrary fixed rate VS a snap of your wrist and doing a 360 instantly. Or not having to fight auto centering drift.

Cool...so if you use the PlayStation app on your phone and connect it with your ps4, you can use your phone as a remote/controller.
