Perhaps my reasoning for not liking Resogun is its to... easy? Maybe I'm missing something? I get savings humans, continuing to build the multiplier etc... So I go for a high score. That's fine. But I don't die. It's just a matter of getting a high score or not. Losing doesn't seem like a realistic option for me.
What difficulty are you playing on? When I first started, I assumed that I should play on Experienced, but I thought it was a little too easy. I ended up switching to Veteran, and I found it to be much more enjoyable. I actually went back and did the Beat the Game on Experienced Without Using a Continue achievement, and it wasn't too bad.
Whereas, in Geometry Wars - I was going to play for a few minutes then shit was gonna get crazy and I'd hold on as long as possible. It got intense and quick! Resogun just seems boring in comparison.
Well, the first stages are a bit easier, and they tend to not get hectic until near the end. I think it's the third stage where things start to get far more hectic from the start. It's probably not a surprise, but the last stage has the most craziness.
geometry wars had 1 mode, not sure if you are thinking about part 2 or not. part 1 had 1 mode and to me, was more fun than resogun. i think it's the fact that it was just a short quick run game you could play in 5-10 minutes, then try again to beat your high score.
Hmm it all kind of melds together for me. I have Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved on Steam, so I went to try it out again. Yeah, that only has one mode, so it must be Retro Evolved 2 that I'm thinking of.
Was Retro Evolved easier on the 360? 'cause I remember getting close to the 1,000,000 point achievement, but the $@%! hit the fan rather quickly by around 120,000 points when I was playing a few minutes ago. ...or perhaps that was Retro Evolved 2 that had that achievement. Like I said... I can barely remember!
Oh, and... :'( Bizarre :'(
