So I am fairly certain my DS4 just died. Wont' charge (or charge indicator) whether plugged into the PS4 or wall-outlet. Even while plugged in I get nodda - if I hold down the PS button the controller flashes white and then the system tells me to charge it. So I can't use it at all.
I picked up an extra controller during the target promotion - plug it in using same cable it charges right away. My guess would be the port in the bad one is gone as I cant use it while plugged in. Awesome. I guess I'll try to warranty it.
The controller at best buy today was dead and not charging either. Thought it was odd and I wasn't going to think any more of it, but given this post on the same day I figured I'd mention it.
The controllers at the gamestop interactive don't charge because they weren't plugged into the console. One day I was there and some kid said it was broken and I looked over there and said "huh, there's nothing plugged into the USB port, no wonder the battery died".
anybody have pinball arcade here? if so, how do you unlock seasons 1 & 2 tables?
Just unboxed mine finally. Downloading the 1.52 system software at a very good clip, about 10 mbps, which is half my internet connection (and I don't think I've ever seen faster from anywhere on anything anyway). I guess Sony through resources at this lest they ruin a bunch of people's Christmases
I spoke a bit too soon. PSN is currently offline (https://support.us.playstation.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/237), though it did let me get the update.
Same situation here, the update is most likely being hosted by a CDN. It downloaded in around a minute on my 24mbps line but PSN is down and my brother hasn't been able to connect all morning. Apparently PSN started a death spiral last night and was completely out by this morning.
I figured the most amount of issues they would have would be at launch. I guess a lot more consoles trying to connect at once messed up the network. They really should have a better network for this. I wonder where all the money from psn plus is going ?
I guess since it wasn't required on the ps3 they weren't generating enough.
I imagine it will be. Sony knows people won't tolerate it, but also it has the money to throw resources at it. Surely these are temporary issues. I am willing to overlook for a while, but if it became a regular thing it would be bad. I really don't think it will be a regular thing.Yeah, must have been a ton of PS4's being activated. The network should be more reliable now that the paid service is required for online play. At least when it was free you couldnt complain too much.
Resogun is as good as people say.
I rarely play "arcade" games like this, but the second I loaded the first level it hit me with the vision and sound effects that I haven't experienced since I was in an arcade as a kid (honestly). It's just a constant onslaught of lasers and explosions and sound effects.
I don't know if this cylinder-map approach has ever been used in a game before but it is absolutely a piece of genius game design. A 2D shooter that only uses its 3D to help show you what else is going on. It's just super well done.
