Too. Exciting. It's like Deus Ex + GTA. Pissed that it comes out the week AFTER the holiday weekend though, thanks for that.
Uh...what?
I'm lost here...help me out.
So you suggest boycotting sony because it may not be 1080p @ 60fps?
Hyperbolic sarcasm for a potential matter. Just saying that folks cried about the visuals with the One, so if this happen on PS4, I expect similar tears to follow.
In all reality, people would just say it's the One's fault, though.
They lost their advantage in TVs when flat panels pretty much leveled the quality playing field and simultaneously removed any profit margins possible. Most people are content with $100 50" Wal-Mart TVs.
Going into computers was a mistake, esp now with PCs on the decline.
They threw a ton of money at Blu-Ray. And now digital streaming ,Netflix, etc is replacing physical media for the masses who still hook up their PS3/360 with the yellow RCA.
All their proprietary media and vendor lock in methods backfired in their face.
PS3 had a horrible start.
Yeah, they have been in trouble.
Well, MS invested serious BoM budget into non-gaming things (Kinect mainly), and that resulted in a slower console with weaker visuals. It's all a matter of perspective. If the WiiU was 50% higher in GPU than the PS4 for the same price or less, then there would be a reason to complain about the PS4's power level.
The PS4 is the most powerful console, and so will have the best multiplat performance of the generation, it's basically accepted at this point.
XB1 can remain relevant by releasing top-tier exclusives. Which I think Phil understands extremely well. He can't un-do the errors that led to the XB1 being what it is, but he can make the best of things for sure, and I think he will.
They are bitching about watch dogs not being 1080 and 60fps. Just go look at neogaf lol. I'm hoping the game still looks good. Ac was 900p and looked great before the 1080 patch.
Indicating that Watch Dogs might get a 1080 patch? :awe:
I don't think so. Ac was a port and was released early but watchdogs is a full launch title. It's pretty much all done. The game was delayed for so long that I guess they needed to get all the dynamic open world elements right, and weren't able to improve it to 1080p. Kind of crappy but you can interact with all the npc's via hacking and various other activities.
All points are true (or, at least, I agree with them), but that's not quite what I am speaking to. Everyone came into this generation expecting 1080p/60 FPS (not that I blame them), then went on a troll spree whenever Sony won the resolution/FPS war against Microsoft (like with Ghosts and BF4). People cried when Forza had detailing cut (myself included, because it's annoying). All I am saying is that if Sony comes out and calls this game 1080p/60FPS, and it ends up NOT being that, I'd sure like to see similar outrage like Microsoft gets for its graphical miscues.
It would be if Xbox One was at a higher resolution or FPS than the PS4 version but that'll never happen which is why people complain about the Xbone version.

Which just shows that some people just look to complain about something, especially if that something is not on the "side" they choose. Not really. I mean, Forza came out as the only racing option on the consoles at 1080p/60FPS, yet people cried more about the downgraded crowd quality than about the fact that NFS: Rivals was 1080p/30 FPS.

Same with Watch Dogs. 1080p, 900p, 1079i, etc... A few pixels of resolution is not going to be the determining factor whether or not this game is entertaining. Well, except to those who are just looking to complain.
Yep. I have bad eyesight, and have no idea how to evaluate image quality. I probably couldn't pick 720p from 1080p or 30 FPS from 60 FPS or whatever anti-aliasing acronyms that are used in different games. Ignorance truly is bliss with graphics, IMO. I find myself having issues with some older games (like Half-Life) over graphical quality, so I imagine it's the worst OCD ever to be a gamer who has issues with seeing every graphical flaw in a game.
The biggest thing about me is I have a 720p TV, so I couldn't be bothered to care about this if I was paid to. I'd love to know how many of the folks crying over 1080p are on 720p TVs like me. Throwing a fit over it when your TV can't even handle that resolution...so pitiful.
Which reinforces my point... None of it really matters, unless you are just looking to criticize something. You can sort of tell with tv and shows if you have a big enough screen. It is noticeable at some points. As for the fps as long as it plays smoothly, you won't know what it is on the consoles. There is no fraps app for either console.
