no it's not, its $2500 and its the 4520ci.
mine is the 4311ci that was $2500 retail but i got it a few months before the 4520ci came out for $1300.
not sure what the inside of the avr has to do with the "amateurish" vents on the sides of it.
Ya we're too far away. The DRM thing was GREAT for PS4 until I really thought about it.
Like someone said in another thread, we already HAVE DRM for Xbox360 and Ps3. You've had to type in those stupid codes for EA games to be able to play online. You think that PS4 is going to force EA to not do that on their console? EA can simply just say "Good night sweet princess for your sports franchise!" That'd be a massive loss right there in sales on the PS4.
After thinking about that, I realize that the No DRM thing is just what it is,a dream. Whether we like it or not, we'll be typing in a code to play online for BF3, or to get roster updates on any sports game from EA.
To me at the moment, and this is just speculation, MS was just completely honest and got it out of the way ASAP. Take the bad PR 5 months from the console release. Sony is deciding to let people figure out 3-4 months later that EA, and other people will still implement the same DRM they always have.
Do you really think the EA shareholders would be happy with them not supporting the PS4 just because they cant get a small % of the second hand market? The idea of EA, Activision, Ubisoft abandoning the PS4 because of no DRM is insane and their shareholders would crucify them if they tried.
So looks like we have a $100 cheaper price point, no Sony DRM server, no ability to use it as a POS quasi-tv box, and a magnitude more capable hardware. If only they weren't lazy about being BC this would be a knockout move.
I think you misunderstood - what he is saying is that the PS4 will not have any built in DRM, like Sony said, but neither will they stop game publishers from having their own DRM, like they already do.
BC? Really? Everyone knows that's unrealistic and not feasable with modern systems.
Try emulating a core i5 on a i7 except the i5 isn't even x86 ISA.
Well not that close but you get the idea. This isn't like emulating a 8 bit 1 MHz 6502 on a 32/64 bit 200 MHz Pentium.
Awwwwwwwww snap.LOL! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kWSIFh8ICaA Microsoft just got owned.

Porting is the best option, the alternative is adding $100-200 hardware.
I'll probably grab one. I need a 3d blu ray player anyways.
What's ps+? Do I need it to play single player games offline? What about online gaming? I really dont want a subscription to anything.
SP I'd be absolutely stunned if PS+ was required. For online, looks like it's the only way to go this round (PS+ for PS4/Vita, XBL for Xbone). But given that they only specified PS+ in the context of online play, it looks semi-confirmed that you don't even need an account to play SP, whereas on Xbone you have to REGISTER each game with your Xbone + online checks every 24h.
I'm not happy about that, but it's about the only bad news with the PS4.
The UPGRADABLE hard drive is a freaking massive plus. Swapping out to 500GB SSD? Yes please. Swapping out to 2TB drives? Yes please. None of this gimped Microsoft BS.
That's not happening ever. People would be in an uproar about consumer confusion etc etc etc.I'd be fine with that. They could have two models, one with BC and one without. I'll pay extra to consolidate 2 consoles and free up an HDMI port.
Still doesn't excuse Vita memory cards though. They haven't figured out that's one major factor in poor Vita reception. Sony isn't quite an angel themselves just yet.

Oh one more thing... PS4 is region free!! Importers delight

28 people just cheered for this.
Compared to the crap that ms just pulled they sure look like it. I can't remember another time when two competing products were released and one getting owned so badly.
