I agree paying for online play sucks. If someone does not want to pay out of principle I can understand and won't argue. If it is about money PS+ is one of the biggest money savers out there. A cheap rental service with awesome game discounts. Is there months I don't like any of the games sure it is not perfect. But I am already a PS+ subscriber until sept 2014 and I see great value in the service. So it does not really affect me. If they are going to charge they better damn well have dedicated servers for games. At least Sony dropped online passes for first party games for the PS4 so that nice.

They will get over it. You will see. I'll be paying $10 a month though. Mainly because my brother will also get a ps4 from either me or my dad. He lives with my mom who is very old school and hates video games. The concept to her about paying to play a game you spent 60 dollars on is something she will never understand lol. Her concept of fun is hitting the books haha.

I won't mind paying for myself and my little brother to have online usage. At least he will use it way more than me, and well I can understand how it can be a small concern for single parents. I'm sure you will be able to buy cards at some discount. Would also be cool if you were away and could suspend the online account for the time being.

You have no right to make this claim, you must be a ignorant or spoiled child. You are coming off as a arrogant ass. I am by no means complaining about it, but at least I have the mental fortitude to understand others concerns. Your opinion on the matter means nothing.

1 release game / yr will cost you $5/mo. It's a valid point. Not to mention the internet required to use the thing is probably at least $20/mo.

So yeah, he has every right to make the claim.

there is a difference between not wanting to spend $5 to pay online and not being able to afford to do so. seems to be a really hard concept for you to grasp.

Not wanting to spend $5 and not being able to afford it are 2 different things. Seems to be a really hard concept for YOU to grasp.

Having PS3 and 360 and having paid for XBL, EQ, WoW etc, I'm giving 0 fux over having to pay for PS+ IF they invest that into infrastructure and make the service as good as XBL.

It sucks it can't be free, that was unique to PS, but its out of necessity to provide a quality service and unified infrastructure, Eg there's a legit purpose for it. It's not a fundamentally anti consumer thing like so many others, say for example, having to pay online monthly dues just to access your single player discs or something.

My XBL Gold just expired. I might renew it month to month with prepaid cards for a couple 360 games until the end of the year.

All my multiplatform games and multi player games this gen have been 360, with PS3 mostly for exclusives and RPGs and single player games, so all this whining about Sony and paying $5 mo is lost on me.

The more I think about it I just don't see the point. Pc will still look better, no monthly fees, cheaper games, pc equipment is already paid for.

Variety. Is Kingdom Hearts, Tales of Xillia, The Last of Us, Zelda, etc on PC?

And DRM fiascos. I dropped off PC gaming sharply when I bought Bioshock on 360 after that whole DRM mess on PC. That started the "its good enuff" trend for me and marked the first time playing non exclusive games on console instead of PC. It was a sad day.

DRM has done more to damage the industry than help it.

There are some games like the last of us that will not be on pc. I don't want to buy anything else for ps3 right now. Pre ordered my ps4 at best buy to make sure I get it on launch day.

I do have a bunch of ps3 games I can finish by then. I may as well try to trade them and my old system in or sell it.

Yea..as much as I could just say "only" pc, I like the variety and there are certain games that I like that PC's just don't get. I certainly don't see myself buying all of the next gen just like last gen, but I'll probably get at least 1 of them at some point after the kinks are worked out (because you KNOW there will be kinks).

Speaking of kinks when I pre ordered best buy website didn't ask if I wanted warranty. I wonder when I go to pick it up if I can buy the 1 or 2 years warranty.

Yes. BB is ALWAYS happy to sell you warranties, etc.

I believe Sony will sell you a warranty. Depending on price, it may be better going that route to avoid being locked into a specific retailer.

Yes I would rather have the warranty from Sony. Just because I know best buy charges more for their warranty service sometimes.

Only issue would be if they send it out which I think they do, doubt they would just give you a replacement in the store.

BB has a warranty service where they will just replace it the item. Black shirt or black tie or something I believe it is called. Not sure on the cost though.

Killzone is exclusive and it looks good. Knack is also exclusive.

Both are day one launch games.

Never played kill zone but I probably should try it. I forgot, the ps3 had the same issue, I think heavenly sword and that multiplayer game with flying machines were release games. I played the crap out of that multiplayer game I can't think of it. Heavenly sword I didn't even touch.

warhawk wasn't a ps3 launch title, it came later, and was terrible.

only ps3 launch exclusives i can remember off the top of my head are motorstorm and heavenly sword. not sure if resistance was at launch or not.

i personally think resistance is much better than killzone.
