Yeah... doesn't make any sense. Why would developers integrate Physx if it won't be available on the target console?

PhysX has already been announced for all three consoles as it doesn't actually require NVIDIA hardware to run. However, that's CPU-based PhysX; if you want GPU-based, you need NVIDIA hardware!

Also, because of the similarities, you could probably just recompile the code for PC and Xbox One depending on what you want to run it on. They just have to tweak performance for the console version, which isn't even something that matters at E3.

That's what I was thinking. By using Direct X, the initial port job with early, unoptimized code ought to be fairly easy.

At the ps4 reveal way back in Feb or march...they said November.

I think the problem is that they may have said November back at the reveal, but they gave an even more general timeframe of "this Holiday season" at E3. I assume that it will be out in November though as they'll definitely want to hit that sweet Christmas shopping season!

If I had to guess, I think they wanted to give a more general time frame because of possible demand.

Did not know this, makes sense now. Thanks.

With microsofts awesome E3 reveal and care taken to address consumers concerns they have convinced me to buy their offline product, the Playstation 4.

I wasn't even planning on buying a console but they got me looking at the PS4 and I found they have plans for a "cloud game streaming service" thing and a emulator for previous PS console gen games and that's what sold me.

Though I won't pre-order due to some concerns.
-Will this streaming game service actually work well? I have a max of 160kb/s internet connection atm to worry about as well.
-Will the emulator have the older games I want? (mainly Colony Wars/Armored Core).

I haven't owned a a PS console since the first one so the whole "re-buying games" doesn't affect me. The idea of a console that plays all the classics from all the other consoles is sexy, oh so sexy.

The details of their streaming service and when (even if) it will be available has not been addressed. They promised some kind of streaming for the PS3 as well and that never happened. While I like the idea, if they getting it working and if it costs anything remain to be seen.

We don't have much info at all on Gaikia or whatever it is called yet.

What we do know:

It is suppose to launch early next year
It will stream playable PS3 games (should work much like OnLive that was out on the PC I'd imagine)
The PS4 has a dedicated chip in its hardware dedicated to it

Sony said they are not sure what or how they are going to do pricing yet as they are currently working on it still and need to figure out the costs it will be for them.
They are also deciding various models with it, from ala cart buying each game you want, to a sub model where you have access to all the games and if this will tie in into PS+ in anyway or be a seperate service all together.

As for your 2 concerns, the internet seems a bit low, but I dunno. Can you stream 720p videos from Youtube alright? If so you will probably be ok I'd guess.

Library they will offer will be expanded on as time goes. We have no idea how they are going to do it.

All and all, it is too early and too little info out there to really know much of anything. It is one of those things we will have to wait a bit on.

I am debating canceling my Amazon Launch PS4 pre order. I am just not liking the launch line up, and while I will end up buying a PS4 for sure, I wouldn't mind waiting and it might let someone who wants it on day one that couldn't preorder get one. Would, if I canceled, free up a slot? And if so, is anyone in here that didn't get in on the launch edition interested? Obviously, I couldn't say for certain you'd get it, but you would have a chance if Amazon gets an extra in stock.

Nah...someone without a day one will get a day one is all. They'll be on first come first served basis.

The only way you'd be able to help someone here is to go ahead with the pre-order purchase and then sell/ship directly to them at launch.

Oh, I will probably just keep it then and go through with it. Worst case is I get a PS4 (which isn't that bad >_> ) and best case is I resell it for the Christmas crowd for some outrageous mark up.

As of this morning, GameStop management has confirmed that they are not currently taking reserves on Xbox One. No official explanation has been given for the removal of the SKU at this time, and GameStop has not clarified whether or not they will re-open the reserve list at a later time. PlayStation 4 is still available for reserve, and Sony recently announced that GameStop has pledged to buy every PlayStation 4 they can get their hands on.

Well that was a boring video. The interface looks pretty good though and it looks like a little bit windows inspired

While this is the likely explanation, it is curious they didn't just say that. Maybe to create chatter about XB1...

Well, I know each location was told how many pre-orders or as they call them, reserves, they can take. My friend's store sold through all the xb1 systems the first day within a few hours, then they received an email telling them that they could do an additional so many because they have a decent demand at that location. They sold through all those and now are doing a list. If they have any extra or get replenished they will call people on the list and offer it to them if they are still interested. They don't wanna take a ton of orders they can't fill. Some stores get more than others. The store in Times Square get more than stores out in Kansas for example.

Ok? What does that have to do with not just stating it?

Holy cow that was terrible, haha. I like how magically everyone buys KZ though lol...

I also like how it's some kid in a garage / studio apartment, like it is hipster.

Honestly, this is the first bad move by Sony

Yeah...he's apparently a very cool guy who is being annoyed by a very cute girl. Very cute, yet she happens to be sitting alone in a restaurant, and has nothing better to do than stalk him on PSN. And his friend needs help in Killzone, but the friend is apparently better than he is at it and shows him how its done.

This was so cornball it was almost uncomfortable to watch. Especially the last three shots at the end where they show each of them smiling at their various locations. Maybe this was meant to be a satirical ad, but I think I may cancel my preorder. Be a hipster douche living in his parents garage, or a lonely middle aged degenerate talking and gesturing to his console... No good choices in this next generation.

Haha, nice.

Yeah, it was uncomfortable to watch. I wonder if this works in other markets...
