As the launch gets closer, I am getting more anxious. I ordered one from Best Buy and two from Amazon. I plan on selling the two from Amazon.

rime looks pretty damn neat. reminds me of ico. that is the first i've heard of that game, is it going to be out at launch? i noticed the end of the trailer had a date of 2013, but i know that doesn't mean it is coming out this year. i'd like to know more about this game.

My guess is if it's 2013 it could be out in December. They need a better trailer. There are a few games I would like to know more about too besides the obvious 3 I am picking up with my console.

Feels like momentum has slowed for the PS4, I'm hoping we here some interesting news at the Toyko game show.

That makes sense actually - since most of the news are about their changes/updates. Curious to see if that has an impact now that we are closer to launch.

I agree with this. People kept dogging Microsoft because they were releasing info in bits and pieces. Sony blew their load at E3 pretty much and have been quiet since. Microsoft keeps talking about stuff, causing new threads on gaming forums (good or bad) that keeps them in the discussion.

Didn't hurt that Microsoft waited to announce a launch until after Sony.

I would expect a release date for Japan, but their wording also seems to indicate maybe there will be more. The only reason people think so is that they're taking the time to run an English translation of the event, so that could indicate an announcement that will affect Western and Eastern gamers alike, maybe a new Last Guardian announcement, or that Demon's Souls 2 rumor that has been making the rounds.

Does anyone know if the games in the Amazon PS4 bundles are digital downloads or physical copies of the game? I've seen a lot of speculation both ways on this, so I'm curious if anyone actually knows the answer or if it's all speculation on this topic.

By the way, it's on right now. They're starting with PlayStation Vita. I kind of wish they would reduce the volume from the mic as it's too easy to hear the Japanese guy who most people probably don't understand anyway.

EDIT:

It looks like they've got a slightly newer PS Vita model, which is 20% thinner, 15% lighter and features more colors (pink, yellow, graphite, blue, etc.). Based on what they say, it has a LCD screen instead of OLED, a 1GB built-in memory (for game saves?) and an hour more battery life. The price seems to be about the same ($200) if I do some crude mental conversions of Yen to USD. (it's something like 100 Yen per dollar).

Sony announced the PlayStation Vita TV, which appears to allow you to play Vita games on the TV (has a card slot) using what looks like a Dualshock 3 controller, but there's also the remote streaming feature that the Vita has. So, your PS4 can be routed to another TV through the Vita TV.

Since the Vita lacks a TV output, you can't really do that any other way.

Should be $100 based on the Japanese price.

Also there is a rumor that Atlus has the first trailer and info on Persona 5 ready to show but due to their current financial woes, decided to postpone that reveal because they have an uncertain future at the moment.

I was under the impression the launch date already given was for worldwide launch. Guess I was wrong. Sony is delaying launch in Japan most likely to meet demand in the US. They failed pretty hard with the PS3 US launch (only shipped 400,000 units), so more would be nice.

Hmm, if that works well I might actually be interested in this product. I don't much care about the Vita games, but I would definitely be interested in being able to play PS4 games from a PS4 upstairs on the downstairs TV, or vice versa. I have two Xbox 360s for that reason now.

Sony brought it last night, a dozen new PS4 games announced, and a boatload of Vita stuff as well. A lot of it likely won't make it to the U.S., but Sony conference wasn't about the U.S., it was about Japan. I expect some of it will tho, Yakuza Inshin, Suda 51's new game, the Vita redesign, the 64GB Vita card, and the Vita TV will all likely come stateside, among other things.

The one piece of fail here is that Sony had the opportunity to switch to MicroSD with this new Vita model and still didn't do it. While I applaud them changing the charging connector to be standard, I'm still not buying into their crappy proprietary memory cards.

People would probably complain about switching storage mediums because they already paid for the proprietary ones! If I had to guess, the people that buy the PSVtv will probably either be Vita owners or PlayStation 4 owners. The prior will already own those ridiculously-priced memory cards.

I'm curious if we'll see the new Vita models. I wouldn't mind selling my old one to get the new one as I've never cared for the OLED screen. Those black lines bug me too much!
