Next ps4 update to add option to remove HDCP from games for HDMI video capture, allow twitch to stream at 720p HD, offer video editing options for recorded videos and allow you to record gameplay videos of any length to an external USB drive. Twitch in HD sounds wonderful. The current quality is somewhat disappointing to me.

Not yet but at least these updates keep coming with some frequency thus far.

This sounds nice, and it somewhat removes the whole HDCP issue for me. I mean... unless your goal is live streaming and you prefer a separate device for that, this would help in making post-processed videos without any extra hardware... beyond the computer to perform the editing/rendering.

HDCP meh... Just pull the raw signal off the LVDS lines going to the LCD controller inside the display and FU.

I believe it's supposed to work by continually recording/looping the previous 15 minutes of gameplay. So when you push the share button, it shares the past 15 minutes.

Instant resume is THE main feature I'm looking forward to. Xbone already has it.

When you hit share you can capture the last 15 or start recording manually.

The defaults are if you tap share, it takes a screenshot and clips the last 15 minutes into a video. Long press is a screenshot, and a double press is to manually start a new clip.

My daughter seemed to accidentally hit share on occasion, so I switched it so a "quick press" just takes a screenshot.

I never changed it and when I hit share it asks me what to do.

I remember one time it asked me and this was before I signed up with twitch or uverse which ever they are, it actually ended up saving a clip to my hd. But since then I never used it, figured who's going to watch me play for no reason if it's not a new game that hasn't been out yet.

Yeah, it records in the background, and then when you hit the share button it takes the last 15 minutes recorded and makes a vid from it, it takes a screenshot, and it opens the window with upload vid, upload picture, or broadcast.

Although, you can change the behavior you get when you hit the share button in the options. I forgot that under the default behavior that the window pops up, which is what I left out in my previous post.

Anyway, while this isn't a hugely important feature to me, I did want to be able to move videos and photos to USB storage, and I'm happy to hear about the upcoming changes.

The editing of videos and movement from them to a usb or hard drive externally is cool. If they can do that they are not far from putting in media support from usb or hard drives and such. It's about time they roll out the features that were announced.

Actually I never did go for every game before. This is new. Usually I just collect very niche games like JRPGs and first party releases on older systems, or all Atlus or Square games or Capcom, Konami, etc. I don't bother with the trash games like the 15 versions of Wheel of Fortune, etc. And even a lot of that is stuff I kept from when I bought it new. snip

I'd reconsider the collecting every game idea. The better way in my opinion is to buy what you want, and grab CE's for games that are of greater value to you. These days I buy games digitally, but grab physical CE's for games that I feel are a cut above or games that I'm personally psyched for. Recently for me it was the Ellie edition of TLoU, the Beyond Two Souls special edition (I am one of those weird people who likes David Cage's stuff) and the Lightning Returns CE. I haven't bought one yet for any PS4 games but I'm sure something will tickle my fancy at some point.

Unless you do it manually and even then you can only grab 5 minutes at a time. They really need to let you get as much as you want.

But like I said Im not paying $49 for Angry Birds.

More insulting is the fact that Thief and Tombraider are already both 39.99-49.99 but Angry Birds, a day one launch title, has never gone on sale.

Good news for the "Let's Play" community. Wonder what those other features are that they mentioned. Hopefully improved media playback, or at least the game suspend feature mentioned at E3.
