Read one review (IGN I think). Apparently, it's a fairly mindless fps. Nothing new other than things that would be spoilers if I mentioned them. So I will not.

After reading the review, let's just say I am much less enthused abotu this one.

I for one am looking forward to Q4. I mean, FEAR looks great and everything but c'mon... IT'S QUAKE IV PEOPLE! I feel like the reviews have really not done the game justice and will keep my faith just because of the previous versions alone.

I'm obligated to get this game the day it comes out. Besides, I need to hear about how FEAR runs compared to the demo, the demo was very choppy and had a lot of problems when I played it. I have never preordered a game, but I plan to pick up Q4 today

Sounds like Quake 3, the weakest one of the 3 in the series thus far imo.

Did you guys see the video of the the guy nail-gun wall climbing ?

BTW, i will say this for the zillionth time.

Don't buy Q4 for SP.

FEAR = SP
Q4 = multiplayer

It looks like nothing new. The price will have to drop significantly before purchasing this one. Maybe COD2 this week but I'm really waiting for HL: Aftermath.

I'm getting it for SP as well. I don't do lan-meets as often anymore. Anyone have it yet? Are they doing a DVD and CD release or only CD?

They have a special edition DVD that includes Quake II and its expansions also

That whole "Cmon people its Quake 4" BS was what got me into Doom 3 and it sucked large donkey balls.
And yes, every review out there so far has said Q4 is a sequel to Q2, its about single-player story line, NOT about multi-player action.

You guys need to look around and study before you buy games. You're gonna be pissed off.
(Just like me when I got Doom 3.)

Bad news for you is the only thing that Q4 has in common with Q2 is the single player

What in the HELL? I preordered Quake4 and FEAR at Bestbuy. Went in today to pick them up and they said only FEAR is in, Quake4 isn't. HalfLife2 all over again? I sure as hell hope not.

Remember Ravensoft not Id Created Q4, these are the ones who created the beloved Castle Wolfenstien for Id as well. I have to think the story and action of the SP mode has to be better then Doom3.

iD oversaw the whole project. Regardless, it says alot about what iD has reduced to... a company that can produce decent engines but can't deliver on gameplay.

I have no doubt that RavenSoft can pull of a good SP game but thats not entirely why many gamers adore the Quake franchise... its all about MP!
