So far I don't think we need a whole lot. Power strips might come in handy if you find a few of them laying around.

And as usual we can always use more motherboards w/CPU's. Another two I believe would fill rack #2.

Well, the wife doesn't really want that AMD 1600+ I bought from Evilwobbles. She's wants a new system instead.

Sooo.... I shall hook it up on the BEOWULF!!

Oh and for anyone that wanted to know the gauge of steel, it's 18g. The plastic mounting the motherboard plates is called HMU. It's a very hard plastic that steel won't cut to matter how many times you pull the plates out and it is very heat resistant.

Well sounds like to me you need to get her a new P4 3.06 GHz with Hyperthreading ....you know the one that should pop out about 12-14 WUs per day

Btw I have an Aopen AX6LC mbrd here ,its got an LX chipset,DIMM slots ,goes upto 83MHz FSB ,is ATX & supports upto Celeron 533 (don't know about Coppermines).The PS2 ports died on it no thanks to a faulty kybrd.I'm going to see if the USB ports still work ,if they do would you guys be interested in having it for the project?

I've contacted the Mods and LANMAN (sorry, Shux, I forgot you did the original thread, but i thought that as LANMAN is hosting the rack, it would be for him to do ) about either restickifying this thread, or starting another, and stickifying that one


I've left it with the Mods that LANMAN will sort things out, and contact the Mods about it

Ok I have bought a USB kybrd & I have a USB mouse ,all I need now is a Slot1 cpu & some RAM to test the AX6LC!.

I can borrow a PII 233 from someone at work ,and I'm going to try my PC133 CL2 RAM from my spare rig in the LX mbrd ,not sure if it'll like that though as I have heard problems about running PC133 CL2 in older mbrds.If so I'll have to ask around to see who I can borrow some RAM off.

I have a spare Slot 1 Celeron 333 sitting here, which can, if needbe, be paired up with that board for the cause

Havnt finished cleaning yet, but i have found some goodies.

One 8 port KVM. Its old, but last i remember it was working. Its a rack mount and i got tired of using it as a monitor stand. I have 5 cables for it. It takes some wierd kind of cables. Looks like a parallel cable(db25) on one end, and the other end splits into the keyboard mouse and monitor cables. Oh it has sound too(not that your gonna need it)

One Baystack 250 (12 port 10/100 Hub)
One 3com LinkSwitch 1000(24 port hub(?))
One 3Com Name plat is missing. 24 port hub.
