THE RACKS ARE READY!! (<--Can't get the font any bigger dangit!)
I just got a email from the company and they are ready for pickup. I'll be stopping in this afternoon to see the finished product.
If their open late, I'll have to run home and get my truck to haul them to the hosting site and start putting things together!
I'll take a few pics here and there so everyone can see so stay tuned!!

We need to get a web site for this thing. There could be real-time (flash?) progress stats on what it's working on and stuff like that.
If each system were to NFS mount its folder for SETI from a central server, this would make monitoring easier, and it would also simplify upgrades to the SETI client (such as when SETI 2 is released).Originally posted by: Shuxclams
Now thats a cool idea... dunno about flash, If we had a directory structure like "/usr/local/seti/seti01", "/usr/local/seti/seti02" etc.. we could create a script to "cat /usr/local/seti/seti01/state.sah > seti01.txt" and grep the "progress=64.31%" into something MySQL and have a PHP frontend... I think...Originally posted by: titanmiller

This all depends on lanman's access to broadband with a static IP
Broadband yes, static IP, not necessarily
The use of something like No-IP.com to give a domain name to a dynamic IP

enterprise@teamanandtech.com?
Who's the admin for that domain? That's cool with me, if they can make it so.

I think ViRGE is the guy who's in charge of that...at least that's the rumor that I've heard.Originally posted by: LANMAN

Anyway, there's been talk in the past of setting up a "Sexy Team AnandTech Rigs" site, and during that discussion it was mentioned that the possibility existed of putting a subdomain under teamanandtech.com and forwarding it to some other IP address (IIRC). If someone with a static IP address could host it, we could have a web site with pictures, paypall button for donations, and realtime stats, and it could be reached by the address enterprise.teamanandtech.com
I have been learning about PHP, and just finished the chapter on reading from and writing to files in "PHP and MySQL Web Development" a week ago. Perhaps by the time this all gets set up, I might know enough not only to read the SETI client's status files, but also to derive some useful information from the content therein.Originally posted by: titanmiller
The question is, who has the knowledge to code the real-time stats?

I wish he'd have done some PHP script or something for F@H stats... doing them all by hand takes me about 15 minutes each evening, time which I have, but which I wish I could use more efficiently. That's one of the (main) things that's driving me to teach myself PHP and MySQL.Originally posted by: Confused
MereMortal is more than a mere mortal when it comes to coding PHP and MySQL stuff.
Just look at all the stats for projects he's done (ECCp, SoB, F@H to name just a few)
