I wish he'd have done some PHP script or something for F@H stats... doing them all by hand takes me about 15 minutes each evening, time which I have, but which I wish I could use more efficiently. That's one of the (main) things that's driving me to teach myself PHP and MySQL.

Ohh...i thought he had done the F@H stats! The setup is very similar to his

Just looked, DDOL is the other one he's done stats for

I have to say that looking through his scripts, I don't understand much at the moment (the most I can handle editing is the $fwrite's, to write a line into a file!)

Kudos to you for learning it all

15 minutes! After 5 I would just give up and say oh well.
It's not that bad. After all, I speed the process up by manipulating a lot of the data in UltraEdit via regular expressions. Otherwise it would probably take me an hour! :Q

Most of the time is spent either pushing the mouse or copying and pasting... that's why I'm trying to learn PHP scripting, so I can automate the process.

Who's the admin for that domain? That's cool with me, if they can make it so.

The admin>>> webmaster@teamanandtech.com

Why not use whats already been setup for the PayPal account TeAm_AT_Beowulf@scarieville.com, there is also a Picture Gallery of the racks and parts hosted Here...

It wil be just a bit; My Nikon software likes to kick me out when I cut and paste from the viewer. Guess it's time to visit Nikon's web site
and retrieve an updated version of the software.

When you see the pics, I'll try and get everyone a list of the different hardware I used then I mounted the motherboards.
I know you'll like what your about to see!

Sorry, I had to attend M$ "Big Day" in Fargo - got a non-time bombed copy of Office XP!!
Then off to the Chevy dealer to have some warranty work done, ie.. block heater and stuff. BTW: it was -25 this morning with -35 to -40 Windchills.

I called Nikon again this afternoon to get their software to work and after about 30 minutes on the phone, we were disconnected. I'm getting just a bit
miffed about the whole thing; I installed the software on my backup PC and transferred the files there. I'm staring to think Nikon View doesn't like XP
Pro, but I'm not sure what I'm going to do about it since I prefer my pics on my laptop.

Anyway, I had drill this weekend, and no, I haven't received any word on being activated. My thoughts and prayers go out to the thousands of
other troops either already there or on the way. So now you know why I haven't been online line much in the last few days.

Shux,

You have a 11Meg file on the way. :Q Let me know if I need to break that down into smaller packages or whatever. I haven't received a "Maximum mailbox limit has been reached"
kickback message, so I can only assume it worked. Let me know otherwise.

Once the pictures are published on the web site, I can post here again and explain what your seeing in greater detail.

Once its put together and the "King" system is in place it wont be hard to start up the BEOWULF itself. We should come up with a shell script for creating, installing and monitoring the clients however.

Hey all,

I had to take a four day weekend off to see family a 1000 miles away, but now I'm back!! (save your applause..

A few things unfolded on Thursday evening when I had the CAD designer over to look at the first rack. She had a
minor flaw on how the motherboards were mounting on the plates and if you look at the pics you'll notice one motherboard
is mounted on the right of the plate, and the other is on the left. The correct mount is on the right because it allows room
for the mouse and keyboard cables when needed. As soon as she saw that, as another CAD engineer accompanied her,
they realized during the development they made a wrong decision. They "mirrored" the mounting of the plates in the wrong
order. All the plates have to be moved down 6" to allow the correct placement of all the boards without wasting space.

They should have this corrected on the blue prints this week and roll out the second rack. I'm so glad we took this first one as
the prototype before they made all five wrong!! :| But for the adjustment, is easy, it's fast, and it's the only one that has to be
done!

I'm going to take the first cabinet home and redrill the mount holes for the plate guides, so we can put six board in this rack right
away. The other four left will also have enforcement points on the top and bottom of the shelf to support the weight of the rack
when more systems are installed. So you will see even more pics as the second rack is produced.

Sorry to hear about the little problems, but it's good that it's nothing major. Hopefully this can be set up soon so TA SETI won't fall two places in the stats.

Good to hear that things are going forward.
yep, but so slow

Once everything has been perfected, it won't have to be done again.
I will admit though, if the CAD engineer would have followed the instructions I gave her, she
wouldn't be sitting in the position we are in now. For some reason she thought it would be better
to mirror the layout on the blue prints, which moved all the plates down. Why she did that is anyone's guess,
but now they have to redue the prints. I'll be calling today to see the status of rack #2.

Just like in the past threads, "This project is like a red wine; in time it will produce a great product."

I plan on marketing this rack and if it takes off most of the proceeds will be going into hardware and
power bills. We got to keep this thing current right?
